Well, here it is installed. I talked to a local a little bit on 19 this morning. May go up on top of the hill before work and see if I can get someone a little ways off. I also may get another 5' top loaded fiberglass antenna for everyday use. They seem to have a lower radiation angle on my setup.

Window's glued in and doesn't leak. It was just another place for dirt to collect. We pulled it out right after I got it. It was hanging out most of the way around anyways.

Well, I've run this setup for over a year now with no problems. The base of my 102" whip broke last year over the summer when the threads broke off the nut, but we came up with a good way to fix it. I also added a 6" extension to get the proper tune length for the antenna.

I'm now wanting to switch from the 18WXSTII radio to a Uniden 68 I have and add my ICOM 2100H to get back the weather channels and gain some communication range in case of emergencies. I'm considering a magnet mount for this so it can be positioned anywhere on the vehicle I need it to be (in case of roll over or a similar situation where the top of the vehicle may not be pointed up.)
