Not true.

Chapter 29, section 29.002(b) of the Parks and Wildlife Code states:

IMHO, since the Department has authority on these lands with regard to fishing, game and wildlife, the rest of the regulations apply.

:lecture::lecture::lecture::lecture::lecture:

Doesn't apply, or else it would apply to your own back yard.

Ah, but Barnwell does apply because they have received state funding. This is why we're required to run the TPWD stickers while out there too. My own backyard is private property and I do not receive funding. :)

Of course, to each his own. That's the beautiful thing about being a human. You can choose to ignore the law or you can choose to obey it. This choice is the very thing that keeps Kurt and I employed. LOL

as it sets now lake arrowhead is not for use if we do at some point get permission from the state it will be governed under the OHV laws and will need helmets and all that jazz
as for buffalo it is legal for use and not governed under OHV code, no helmets no nothing....now STFU ian and lets go have some fun

Perhaps we can get :NAXJA: peeps to write their Representative to get the silly law changed?

They haven't changed the "No Pliers in the back pocket law" in over 100 years... you think they really care about that one?

I choose to be naive and believe that the "power of the people" still exists at some level.

And yes, just because you choose to ignore the fact that a current sticker is required does not make it any less of a requirement. LOL!

I should point out, that I really don't care. I'm more curious at this point. That and knowing what the rules really are affords people the opportunity to decide what they want to do. Not knowing is how people get into trouble. I mean if we all want to be sociopaths and ignore what is the "right thing to do" that is each of our individual choice and all.

But hey, it's good to know that we can wheel at Buffalo Lake if anyone in the Amarillo area wants to. :)

It appears that eflores was mistaken about Buffalo Lake also....

This just in from the OHV Program Manager:

Steven Thompson said:
  1. BuffaloSprings Lake near Lubbock, does not allow full sized OHV on their motorized trails, dirt-bikes and ATVs only.
(yano, some days I think I really need more to do while at work!)

WOO HOO... I have your addy now... So what kind of porn do you want? Cuz thats NOT what I am going to send you.
