Oh snap!!
Meh, so far my hp44 has treated me well. I never broke a 260x ujoint on 33s though, I'm usually not a pedal masher offroad.
i just dont see the point when you'd have the same weak link, the u joints. i know you can do rcv's or ctm's but then you'd be into it for more than a dana 60 for a weaker axle.Id take a rubi lp44 over a hp30 anyday
What all were you breaking on yours?
i dont know, after having done all 3 (polished d30, polished dana 44, and moderately polished dana 60), i think the 44 was the biggest waste of money out of the 3. it broke just as often as the dana 30 but cost more to fix and was heavier.
The dana 60 was the cheapest and strongest of the bunch.
and buying a 01 WJ 4.0 for my 00 XJ and not realizing how much drilling and tapping would be necessary to fit it in

Ring and pinions.
So far the only thing I've broken on the 44 is one hub.
I couldn't keep pinions in the Dana 30 to save my life.
sez the guy who took a dana 44 and put dana 30 outers on it :wow:i just dont see the point when you'd have the same weak link, the u joints. i know you can do rcv's or ctm's but then you'd be into it for more than a dana 60 for a weaker axle.
spicer 760's and full circle clips, seen many blown up D30 r&p's of various gear ratios with that setup, so whats the weak link againi just dont see the point when you'd have the same weak link, the u joints. i know you can do rcv's or ctm's but then you'd be into it for more than a dana 60 for a weaker axle.
