You can buy DOM tubing from Ruffstuff.

I think you can only buy 4 and a half feet or so lengths though. Anything longer than that you need to buy from a local steel supplier.

And then added these bars in the back which will help protect the tail lights... but will also hold a piece of plate between them. I'd like to have a logo or something cut into that plate with a scorpion so if anyone knows somebody let me know:

Another Update, It's coming along although slower than I'd like. So much work to do and not all of it is jeep related!!

I did custom Disk Brakes from a WJ I think it was, I guess I should be writing this down for when I need to change pads!:

A little added touch that will be hiding behind the shocks. This is also a support for the shock hoop:

In the rear I added plate for a bumper and then boxed in the frame and added a shackle tab:

Of course you've gotta eat on the trail so I fabbed up this cooker:

The food cooker sounds interesting. I usually wrap hot pockets or tamales in foil and throw em on the intake manifold int he morning.

Everything is pretty tight so the ori's have to be in just the right spot:

have a slight problem with the ds hitting the upper link:

now for the rear:

shocks come up through holes in the wheel well:

finally sitting on all fours:

and flexing again:

I'm having a slight problem with the lower link contacting the frame at full flex:

when it does that it starts lifting the left shock and contacting the tire at the same time:

and sitting back at full bump again waiting for me to figure out what to do about the rear links:

I've been holding this back but I guess it's no use now since it pretty much looks like this anyway, concept drawing for the scorpion crawler:

Any worr with the ORI mounted on the axle C? Maybe plate of like the kits that are out there for the d30?

if you look at his mounts, they are basically giant C gussets.



OP, your fab skills are great.

your axle choice still sucks.


I give this thing a month on the trail before its on tons.
