This Jeep has been taken very good care of and is in very good condition both cosmetically (it has a minor ding here and there) and mechanically given its age. This Jeep is ready to hit the trails, I can’t think of anything else this Jeep really needs. Asking $7000 OBO. Email me at...
I was looking at the caster adjustment on my 98 XJ and noticed that on the drivers side it is adjusted all the way back so there is no room for shims; however, on the passenger side it is adjusted approximately 1/4" forward but there are no shims in there. Is this normal? It appears that the...

This system relocates the lower mount and eliminates the crappy upper mount also. It is less expensive than the JKS version too.
The c clips are not a weak point. If you build an axle housing brace that eliminates the axle flex, it sould hold up well with 33's as long as you use some common sense when wheeling.
Yes and no. The ZJ drag link will be an upgrade for the older XJ's (1984-1990) with the smaller tie rod end on the drag link (only 20mm). The newer XJ's (1991+) along with the ZJ's have the larger 22mm tie rod end so no need to swap drag links here.
I'm running the RE 3.5" lift with 1" lift shackles and coil spacers. I also have an RE hack-n-tap SYE and I'm using 4* shims. 6* is going to be too much.
I am running the RE's currently and am happy with them;however, I have had the JKS discos on a TJ and the JKS ones are very well built. You can't go wrong either way.
Why go to the expense of lifting a Jeep if you just turn around and install control arm drop brackets that hang down and catch on every rock you go over? My XJ at 4.5" rides like a Jeep should ride, rough. They ride rough stock and they ride rough lifted. If your looking for smooth, buy a Caddy...
When I got my XJ it had the 3.5" RE kit with all the 4.5" parts. I have since added 1" lift shackles and 1" coil spacers to make it a 4.5" lift and I can't tell any difference in ride quality. I see no need in drop brackets.
Sorry if I posted in the wrong forum, but this just came from Camp Jeep. Apparently there is not going to be one this year.
Camp Jeep® Summer 2009
Dear Jeff Burk,
We're getting the word out to all of our loyal early-bird registrants that the Jeep® brand has selected summer of 2009 for the...
I had a set of the Harbor Freight ones. I wouldn't allow my worst enemy to use those POS compressors. Throw them in the nearest dumpster before someone gets hurt and go rent a good set at Auto Zone.
This is just one example. You can look at any Mopar catalog under the same section to find these. I'm sure the prices vary by several bucks from place to place. The parts guy at your stealership is an idiot...
