Team MAD build

For the frame side trackbar mount, we run the RE mount and brace, but pushed it forward 1 hole and welded it on.

And then we added a little gusset.

For the bumps, we run the prothane bumps and just drop them inside of the coils. Nothing really special there.

Thanks Cal- That helps but makes me mad too haha because your Hatch swings up where my tire carrier swings out. Both cover nothing and look nothing like factory XJ hatches. KOH is when again lol

Yeah, its kind of a fine line, but sometimes you have to dance the dance to meet the rules. Given that doors was the biggest bitch all last season, its a good idea to make sure you're on the right side of the line this year.

We leave for KOH in 30 days... still have to install an engine, trans, gear axles, make driveshafts, mount shocks, make bumpstops, tune shocks, send leafs to deaver for rebuild, mount 6 tires, prepare pit boxes, and cage my camper..

No I get it. Just time isn't on a drivers side ever. Yes we still have a list to do as well. Need to get new shocks, tune, build 14B rear, remount 4 tires, prep pit boxes, build rear hatch, re-do exhaust, play with bumps both front and rear, brace track bar, drop and replace every fluid, swap link nuts and bolts. Plus some other stuff I'm sure...:helpme: lol

Yup. Lotta long nights ahead of us both.

Swing by at KOH. We'll be at 136 Poison Spyder, and will keep the beer cold.

Our "hatch" won't open when the spare is mounted. :)

Went to the muffler shop and got my exhaust and muffler or lack of one fixed. Sounds healthy but quiet which is nice as its not so obnoxious.

After that loaded it back up and went to Letzroll where Jim tackled some wiring issues with my headlights and transmission temp gauge before moving on to hanging the axle under the chero-car. We are running a 14 bolt with ballistic shave kit to help gain some clearance as were running 35's per class rules. Axle is stuffed with Yukon 4.88 gears and a spool. The brackets are Artec along with their modular truss as we couldn't run a full length one with leaf springs. Looks good in the rear and fills up a lot of space!

Today we are tackling mounting our Spyder LED light bars! Running a 40" clear on the roof line and a 20" amber to see through the dust in the bumper/stinger. Then were coming up with a game plane for our ADS racing shocks and our rear hatch to meet tech. Coming together nicely and less stressful compared to last year as we were still building a full car lol.

I'm glad to have seen/wheeled with this thing for much of it's life. Cool to see you followed through with it Matt. Keep at it, I wheel through you now lol.

Here is a photo of Jeff with Letzroll Offroad Racing using ESAB welders and cutters products to build my tube hatch door to meet and pass the new Ultra 4 tech rules for our class. Thanks Jeff for making it visually appealing and functional.

Hi Team Mad and Sally's XJ. After Hammers take a look at our Jeepspeed.com series in Az. Nv & Ca. Your Jeeps will fit into our Class 3700. Hope you can make it one weekend. Good luck with your projects.

perfect side by side shot of the new shocks vs. the old. The 2.5" piggy back ADS Off-Road Racing Shocks are massive compared to the other "brand". The ADS shocks are not charged yet so that is not fully extended just FYI

The HP D 60 knuckle on the driver side was getting wallowed out so the guys once again at LetzRoll Offroad Racing drilled it and sleeved it. No more slop.

Close up of the ADS Off-Road Racing Shocks 2.5 piggy back shocks safely secured thanks to brackets cut in house at LetzRoll Offroad Racing on the axle side and C-Rok Engineering and Manufacturing rear upper shock brace.

Clear view of the 14 bolt fitted with Yukon Gear & Axle componets, ARTEC Industries brackets, truss and pinion guard, Ballistic Fabrication shave kit. It is a big upgrade and a piece of art. You can also clearly see our 2.5 piggy back ADS Off-Road Racing Shocks.

Thanks to the guys at LetzRoll Offroad Racing for building us our rear tube hatch that fits around our C-Rok Engineering and Manufacturing bumper and tire carrier. Yes that hatch swings open and yes my tire carrier swings out. That's craftsman ship. You can also see the 14 bolt and the big 2.5 ADS Off-Road Racing Shocks.

we run only the best tire and wheel package on our Ultra4 Racing stock class jeep Cherokee. Thanks Raceline Wheels for one tough beadlock that has never failed us and has always kept our Goodyears on.

Removed the names on the door panels and ran them on the B- pillars. Its the little changes that matter.

Bad low light cell phone picture taken early this morning but you can see the 14 bolt being fitted with an ARTEC Industries pinion guard to keep our TAD driveshaft solid. Notice the ADS Off-Road Racing Shocks in the rear. Yes we will be faster in the desert now!

Jeep is cleaned and the C-Rok Engineering and Manufacturing sliders along with the front and rear bumpers have been freshly coated with paint. You can see the 40" LED on the roof line and the 12" in the bumper. Thanks to SPYDER AUTO for the bright lights as we will be blinding the competition.

Thanks Jeepspeedchief. I would love to do the jeepspeed series along as it doesn't conflict with my ultra 4 and dirt riot races as the jeep was built for the endurance style of racing both desert and rocks. Is general still offering a set of tires for the jeepspeed class? Don't we have to run ATX wheels? That's where it gets me as I don't have the coin to pony up another set of bead locks. I know Jason mentioned it on another post but our tube sizes are 1.75" x .120 and our weight exceeds that for your series. We are grandfathered in to KOH in our weight and tube size as we raced last year. Curious as to how that would factor in.

Matt
