Lame duck session...they are coming for the guns.
Registration of Semi automatic rifles, shotguns, handguns and "large capacity ammunition feeding devices"

Both Illinois HB1263 (banning various firearms) and HB815 (regulating the bejesus out of magazines and shooting ranges) have passed out of a Public Health hearing (I swear) by a vote of 6 – 3. Before passing HB1263, the Committee added a sixth amendment. According to its dictates, firearms specified in the bill (e.g. a semi-automatic rifle such as the ones shown above only with longer barrels) must be registered with the Illinois State Police within 240 days of the bill’s passage, at $10 per gun ($15 for a .50). If the owner sells an “assault rifle” to an out-of-state buyer, the former owner must provide the State Police with the buyer’s name and address. Question: what does ANY of this have to do with preventing crime?

a witness slip is important and has power....

maybe more than a phonecall at this point.

you will be counted in the comittee that you are in opposition.

please oppose all four bills.

Done on all four bills. Hope i didn't see this too late.

got this:

* 12:41 pm - From the Senate Democrats…

It is clear that we will need bipartisan support in order to take floor votes on gun safety and marriage equality this week. We will take some time to work on these important issues to advance them in the near future.
The executive committee has been delayed, but we still intend to hold a hearing on marriage equality shortly.

strange capitol fax intel......since the exectutive comitte meets in four mintues:

(2:15) 1/3/13

we are absolutley piss-pounding these anti's right now with witness slips and phonecalls.

mullet, are you on illinoiscarry.com?

if not, get your ass over there!

Didn't see this till this afternoon.. show the committee times as this morning.. but still allowed me to file witness slips. Emailed my rep... he has been long for concealed carry, so its not much use.

Only two had amendments dealing with anything gun related that I could find.

this is what grassroots is all about....

looks like we won this one this time.....

those membership dollars, the letters, the phonecalls, and those witness slips showed force today.

NRA's Lobbyist Todd Vandermyde was on the mother as usual (did you guys know the NRA has dispatched personal SPECIFICALLY to handle legislative action in springfield illinois?

the ISRA and Illinoiscarry showed force as well.

I'd ask you illinois gun owners to get active over at illinoiscarry.com, and consider a memebership to the nra and isra.

for all you non-illinois gun owners, you guys need to know that your fight is also in places like illinois, and new york, anywhere that anti-gun liberalism gets traction.

pay attention, protect your second ammendment right!

here we go again.......

http://illinoiscarry.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=32913

anyone who filed a witness slip will be able to do so again anytime a bill comes before the commitee or is re-introduced with modifications.

keep calling, let's stay on this.

also.....lisa madigan has until january 8th to appeal the 7th circuit decision regarding the unconstitutionality of a ccw ban in illinois.

we think this recent volley is a sort of broadway production to influence whatever legislation comes forward as a result of the 7th decision.

Let's light'em up boys. This is some serious shit going on. They are trying to take our guns and severely cripple what the 2nd amendment means.
CALL EMAIL WRITE FAX your reps.
The Chicago politicians are not going to stop pushing for these bans and we can not allow them to get thru. BE vigilant!

It is really just Cullerton flexing his power and showing he wants a skin in the game. Madigan stated she WOULD take one of the three reliefs available, she just needed time to look at which one.

The 7th court decision.. wasn't really a court decision. Madigan asked the limited court to review the case and render their opinion. She didn't get the outcome she thought she was going to get. Her next step will be to ask for a full 7th appellate review. The way she approached it gives her three more bites of the apple, rather than an actual appeal to the 7th... which would have only given her two bites(7th appellate and Supreme Court).

But I will shoot another email off to my rep.. He is CCW friendly to start with, so its kinda pointless.

ISRA SPECIAL GUN OWNER ALERT
DO NOT BE CONFUSED – THE BATTLE IS NOT OVER

As most of you are aware, the ISRA has been fighting against 2 bills introduced into the Illinois Senate this week:

1. HB815 – A bill to clamp down on gun ranges and ban magazines with a capacity greater than 10 rounds.

2. HB1263 – A bill to clamp down on gun ranges and ban all semiautomatic rifles, pistols and shotguns as well as numerous other popular firearms.

Unfortunately, these two bills made it out of the Senate Public Health Committee – a committee stacked with gun grabbing senators. However, thanks to all the pressure Illinois gun owners put on the Senate, the sponsors of the gun grab bills have delayed bringing these bills before the full Senate.

THE MEDIA IS CLAIMING THAT THESE BILLS ARE DEAD – THIS IS NOT TRUE!

Do not believe what you see in the papers or hear on TV, these bills are not dead. They remain alive and may be called for a vote at any time before the Senate adjourns next week!

YOU NEED TO KEEP THE PRESSURE ON UNTIL THE SENATE ADJOURNS!

To keep the pressure on, please call the following Senators and politely tell the person that answers the phone that you are a law abiding firearm owner and you do not appreciate being treated like a criminal. Call these Senators at lest once a day through next Wednesday.

1. Sen. Dan Kotowski (847) 656-5414

2. Sen. Antonio Munoz (773) 869-9050

3. Sen. Jacqueline Collins (773) 224-2830

4. Sen. William Delgado (773) 292-0202

5. Sen. Mattie Hunter (312) 949-1908

6. Sen. Susan Garrett (847) 433-2002

7. Sen. Michael Noland (847) 214-8864

8. Sen. Jeffrey Schoenberg (847) 492-1200

9. Sen. Heather Steans (773) 769-1717

10. Sen. John Cullerton (773) 883-0770

11. Sen. Don Harmon (708) 848-2002

12. Sen. Toi Hutchinson (708) 756-0882

REMEMBER – THESE BAD BILLS ARE STILL ALIVE AND MAY BE CALLED FOR A VOTE AT ANY TIME! KEEP THE PRESSURE UP - MAKE THE CALLS EVERY DAY!

Please do the following:

1. Pass this alert on to all your gun owning friends and family.

2. Please post this alert to any and all Internet bulletin board or blogs to which you belong.

3. Renew or upgrade your ISRA membership – get a friend to join!

4. Make a generous donation to the ISRA today, so we can keep fighting these draconian gun control bills.
