Magpul's Recent Statement on Facebook

might be a little embarrassing now, but considering how little gun violence there will be it will all be worth it in the end.

and IF there is another mass shooting, the shooter will only have 15 rounds per magazine! If you do the math on how long it takes to fire a few hundred rounds from 15 round magazines compared to 30 round magazines you will clearly see that his spree will be reduced by a dozen rounds, or more!

Hind sight I feel maybe we just shoulda made mass shootings illegal if laws affect any of this. Oh well, next time

WOW!!!! I can't believe this is the same Colorado I used to respect and enjoy.
yep...

For the first time in my life I'm actually embarrassed to live here. :(
Yep x 2

The citizens of the formerly Great State of Colorado got the government they deserve.

Sadly this is a partisan issue and those on one side of the aisle have made that abundantly clear.

I hope the non-voting/disinterested/disenchanted citizens remember this when the next elections roll around.

I voted, and didn't vote for a single one of these morons that voted to pass this stupidity. Lot of good that did me. The state I moved from a while ago still has better laws than here.

don't be embarrassed for yourselves, guys -- maybe for the idiocy of others, but not for yourselves. Its not like you're part of some collective called "Colorado". Our government is not our society, and we are all individuals. If you make sound choices for the freedom of you and yours, you have nothing to be embarrassed about. Angry about, sure, but not embarrassed.

As a non-voting disenchanted citizen, I would say the opposite -- this shows you exactly what participation in a corrupt process gets you, a steaming cup of #$^&. I voted locally, and I voted some for state offices, but withdrew my consent from the national government. I may withdraw my consent on levels closer to home shortly.

Government draws it legitimacy from the consent of the governed -- T.J.

do not consent.

Not voting just proves to the corrupt bunch in power, that no one cares or even notices. Not to mention gives them the opportunity to commit voting fraud. How do you think the democrats got a lock on Chicago? "Oh, you don't care, let me do it for you."

Just sayin.'

If I don't like the people on the ballot I vote write-in for "anyone else" or something like that.

We're entitled to different opinions, Fred -- you think voting for the lesser of two evils is the right thing to do, I think it simply ensures that an evil douchebag wearing one color tie or another will steal your rights and property and expect you to thank him for it. My position is supported by the continued and expanding corruption and intrusiveness of government despite the best efforts of voters.

I get what you're saying but the problem with that logic is that the brainwashed lemmings will continue to vote, and continue to mitigate our freedoms because imposition is the only thing they have to live for. I'd die on my sword before I just rolled over to an uneducated and hypocritical populus. If I have a problem with something, I speak up about it. Seems to work just fine for the opposition.

Here is the issue: The problem is, we have a barbarian-esque horde of idiots in this country that have been given a voice; and as a society we have coddled them to the point where they think their unfounded opinions actually matter. I believe that our best intentions to recuperate them have backfired on us, as we now have a group of people that can be easily influenced, manipulated, and whose votes can be purchased with the promise of free health care and other entitlements - and these people constitute the majority.

Our problems lie with the fact that we have a culture of fat, lazy, self-indulged people that cannot be bothered to dictate their own lives; so they vote in the person they feel can dictate their lives best for them. A person that will provide everything they need for themselves and their fat, lazy, self-indulged children. And that process will continue to go on, and on, and on...until something happens where people are unable to be lazy. I'm not sure what that is, or if we will see it in our lifetimes. But until then, laziness and complacency will always win.

The only thing I can do, is vote against it.

Jim

Vote third party, throw your vote away in style :gee:

I have in the past -- I'm less than convinced that they aren't for the most part just second tier tools who haven't kissed enough butt to get to the big-guy trough.

and just so as not to be accused of providing nothing productive -- I got the following from some concerned friends, and you guys are usually pretty good at pestering representatives from other districts...

Five Senators Could Change Colorado's Future
Five Senators are Sitting on the Fence
Please Call and Email Them Now! We just received word from a very reliable source that there are five senators who could be convinced to vote no on the four insidious gun bills. PLEASE be polite; contact these senators with your best arguments. If you know people in these regions, please ask them to email, Facebook, Tweet, and call these folks as well.

The bills are in on the floor of the Senate today, February 20, 2013. The four bills are a gun-ban on college campuses (specifically conceal carry - 1226), a $10 tax on background checks (1228), outlawing of magazines over fifteen rounds (1224), and finally, but most dastardly, universal background checks (1229), or better know as gun registration.

The following are the five DEMOCRAT senators who could be convinced to vote against these bills:

Has anyone seen the list of gun manufacturers that are refusing to sell to law enforcement in states that are trampling the constitution?

Interesting idea. I wonder if the politicians will take notice?

I did see that, the only one that I recognized was LaRue tactical.

Sorry dude, that statement always gets me pissed. Nowhere in the constitution does it say 'thou shalt vote for one of two parties'. I voted third party all over the place this last election. Why? Because that's who I thought reflected my desires for government. Not me picking who I though was less of a turd. If enough people thought that too, then we'd actually see something different.

dude, I'm being sarcastic. I have voted third party in the last three presidential elections and don't really see myself voting for either major party next time around either - unless they do some serious soul searching.

Hell, there's a reason I have my user title set to "vote waster" :shhh:
