Why is it that Jeep repair is always an adventure?
Long story short - plugged CAT on my '92 - have a hi-flow replacement, but ONCE AGAIN (similar problem with a '96), the after-market piping doesn't match the situation. A half hour job of just bolting in new stuff becomes a PIA.
The '92 OEM piping has a square, four bolt flange where the CAT mates with the downpipe, but the aftermarket CAT has a 2.25" straight inlet tube. Tried some auto parts places, but the closest thing I can find is a diagonal two hole flange on 2.25" pipe. Anyone have a source of the OEM square variety, preferably with 2.125" (or 2.375") pipe???
BTW, suggestions of cut and snip and weld won't be very easy because of the Borla S.S. downpipe which DOES end in a square flange. (At least those people know what's going on - you do get what you pay for from Borla)
Thanks,
