The Reverse of a Common Question....

Are the only ways to adjust caster is to have adjustable control arms, or to rotate the inner C's?

And, if you use adjustable control arms, is there some trade-off between caster angle and pinion angle, and what is the impact?

I have non-adjustable control arms, so I am guessing there is no easy way to adjust my caster?

Thanks.

Shims at the body end of the LCA.

1) I know what the hell drop brackets are and there job. Reason for not using them,, they get hung up on the rocks often...

2) My control arms fit perfect for the lift it has,, u add drop brackets and u will push the axle out of center. BUT ofcourse i already KNOW THAT I NEED LONGARMS so if u guys are splittin the cost for a set & gift for me,, please [Edited For Content]

3) First, a stablizer is $40 and takes 15 min to put on. Dropping my whole jeep is [Edited For Content]

I got my answers AND delt with u [Edited For Content] so this thread is done!!

Hahaha You need to calm down.

At least you finally realized that people have been giving you your answer since the first page.

the arms i have now have a bend in them for a straiter angle.

[Edited For Content]

The shape of the arms doesnt affect the angles!:roflmao:

Why the hell are u guys still replying to this??

Its a done deal so DROP IT and move on!!

Ofcourse ur higher powers has given me an infraction,, SO hopefully that pleases some if not all of you!!

Sounds like you need a long arm system. 6.5" lift with stock arms = ridiculous control arm angles. Visualize what happens when a tire hits a bump, and hopefully it makes you cringe.

has this not been nominated yet?

whew, just checked, he has been, all is right in the world then.

Wow, you're a hyper dude !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It sounds like your jeep needs a lot of work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would start by replacing the spacer that JCR gave you for your steering!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
...and see if that might be ab issue OK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then GET SOME DROP BRACKETS OR LONG ARMS AND FIX THAT CONTRAPTION YOU'RE DRIVING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Trust me we would not be chatting now if i had the $$ for a new st sys & longarms,,, BUT IM SUPRIZED just how many people are positive for getting drop brackets,,,, Lets say this,, they r horrible for rock crawling and came off after a paragon run. You show me one buggy with drop bracets on it & i'll give u my "contraption!!

Oh look,, someone else that didnt read the original post,,, you said this,,

"get new spacer that JCR gave you for your steering",, if u read ANYTHING,, u would kno that i did NOT buy it myself!!

I will say this once again,, my "contraption" does NOT have the funds for longarms,, that comes later on,,,,, YES i kno they would help,, but u give me the cash and i'll go buy em!!

Smart

DO YOU GUYS SEE THIS?? ANOTHER QUESTION THAT WILL GET THE SAME ANSWER FOR THE 12TH TIME,,,, "YOU BUY EM" & ILL PUT EM ON!!

Look at the pics bro,, do u really think i need anymore flex then that?? NOPE, i dont!!

I DO NOT have stock ANYTHING under my jeep,, that includes the stupid lontroll arms,, THAT ARE NOT STOCK!!

Everys jeep with a lift & tires at 33"s and above will experience this!!

Now go look at the pics before replying.

Just because you didn't buy it yourself doesn't mean it shouldn't be replaced... The PO of my XJ hollowed out the cat. Doesn't mean it wasn't causing unnecessary problems.

Edit: Look at this, I am replying to a later post from you by editing my previous comment rather than posting 3 times. What a novel idea.

No, dont think you need more flex.. but going over bumps with that much lift w/o long arms will put extra stress on the uni-body (and make for a rough ride) because the angles are not going to let the suspension absorb anything much. At slow speeds you may be able to flex it, but quick pot holes in the road or bumps will cause issues. If you can't understand the physics of it then that is OK... but don't get pissed at the people trying to help you out.

My jeep has a lift and tires above 33's and I do not have the problems you do.

You already have the drop brackets, or you say that you once did and took them off. You also say that currently the jeep will not be driven off road for a while, so you just want it to ride well on road. Put the damn drop brackets back on, or lower it to get better angles on your steering. You keep bringing up flex, but you are talking about ON road manners.

Your jeep wanders because you have a stupid amount of lift with the UTK steering setup. You asked if a stabilizer will help, I doubt it but you can try. You ask what will help and people tell you, then you get pissed off.

Replacing the bushing that was mentioned 4 posts ago would probably go a long way, it does not matter if you installed and bought the steering setup or not. Those bushings wear out often, especially if you have a poor steering setup, which you do. Those angles suck.

So your options are:

Sell tires and buy some 33's instead of 35's, get a radial this time
Use extra cash realized to buy some new rod ends and bushings for the steering

Or you can add the stupid steering stabilizer, and stop bitching.

either way, stop getting upset every time you start a thread and do not get the answer you want.

Oh, missed that, come to think of it so do I... and it rides smoother than it did stock. Yeah it follows the road a bit more, but nothing absurd.. only what I would expect from running 33x12.50s.

Im asking you guys "once more" to listen to my question & understand my situation!!
I appologised 2 admin but also requested something 2 b said to u guys to chill & get off my back! (PLEASE)?

This line here,, "Please don't ask for advice and then get mad at people when they give it."
This is SEMI-accurate BUT u guys dont get the point that i cant afford the arms,((SO that convo is OVER)). The :Question was will a steering stablizer help with ANY KIND OF sloppy steering, dead spots, wabbling, wondering, death wobbles, vibes, etc etc?? Call the steerin stabliser a bandaid, but its "JUST A TEMORARY THING" Other answers are useless!! This question is basically a YES or NO answer with some elaboration for your answer thrown in,, BUT NO 1 WANTS 2 answer the stablizer question, that created this argument in the first place!!
Quick summary,, question & answer in it.........

-- ) I cant afford long arms,,,,
-- ) ALL of u guys need 2 cut the dropbracket issue OUT!!
-- ) Show me a hardcore rig or buggy using them!! ((one that wheels))
-- ) PLEASE READ WHAT IM ASKING,, "will the stabliser work (temporarilly)(like a BANDaid), & keep in mind,, IM NOT wheeling her for a WHILE so why is this so hard??

Does anyone get this yet?? Am i wasting time?? Or is this a case of missunderstanding??

nominated for "biggest dumbarse on the planet" award, or equivalent. May not be redeemable in all 50 states or where prohibited by law. Cash value 1/100th cent, not transferrable across county lines.

Edit: Answered above. Lol

Edit 2: Well I wouldn't say nothing. It MAY absorb some of the quick steering shocks (hitting a pot hole).. But for the most part I agree with your comment :D Maybe I am just being overly tired and it wouldnt even help that either.. idk anymore. :D

Oh, and multiple people answered the question already. It just wasn't the answer he wanted to hear, so I have a strange feeling we will be hearing the question again. See, my simple solution was already mentioned too. I can't afford a long arm kit either, so that is why I run my 33's and 3.5" of lift. As I said above, no such issues (other than following the road a bit... but they are 33x12.50s... kinda expected that).
