I have a like new set of Centric drums for an 8.25. I threw them on my 8.25 3 months before I swapped in the 8.8 so I pulled them and stuck them back in their boxes when I sent the 28 spline Chryco to the scrap yard.

The paint's still black and shiny I believe..

what did they do to fix it?

Things must not have been as bad as they sounded over the phone. The shop replaced the three month old thermostat, and the serpentine belt. They also found an intake leak, which likely addressed the drive-ability problems Michelle was experiencing before the overheat.
