    My newest Jeep-related project

Though I'm selling my MJ, I'll still be tied directly to the world of Jeeping for a while. I recently released an updated version of my website. Nothing earthshattering, but a decent collection of Jeep related history, news and info. Here's a sampling of pages: History of the Jeep Cherokee...

Does anyone know of a Buying Tips FAQ?

I'm trying to locate somehting like a Buying Tips faq for cherokees (well, actually, for any Jeeps really) - I've done some searching here and in other forums, but seems to me the basics of what to watch for (especially if you're new to Jeeps) are scattered around everywhere. Kinda tough for...

    Driveshaft hitting exhaust downpipe

Here's the scoop: 1989 MJ - 5" in front, 6" in back Last time out the grease nipple on the ds slip yoke ripped a hole in my rusty ol' downpipe. This time, the grease nipple lost, the downpipe survived, but in addition to the nipple hitting, this time the u-joint ears (DS end) put a mighty...

Severe Weather Assistance Team gets national TV coverage

Some of you may recall a while back I got a group going called SWAT - Severe Weather Assistance Team. It's made up of 48 volunteers from the Nova Scotia Jeep Club. It's mandate was to help our communities when they needed it most - and to that end, we volunteered our Jeeps, time and, yes...

    Grease Nipples and Exhaust Pipes...

OK, so never in a million years I thought. No way a grease nipple on the front driveshaft slip yoke would be strong enough to gouge away my downpipe and leave a gaping hole in my exhaust. Sure when we started the trail the old MJ purred nicely...but about half-way through it was like NASCAR...

So our club did some good for the community...

Here's a summary: We had a blizzard here in Nova Scotia on the 27th. And as luck would have it, about a month ago, I organized a group within the club called the SWAT Team (Severe Weather Assistance Team) - the goal being to make sure, during bad weather or natural disasters, the people...

So, my other thread was a mid-way couple of shots. This is the finished product. Big shout out to Dave and Andre of www.Xtension4X4.ca for the gear and Matt, Craig and Aubrey for the install at APJ Automotive in Sackville, Nova Scotia. They came through big time on this "Christmas Gift" for...

    Spring perch manufacturer?

OK, I need to source spring perches - stock Jeep ones. Need the whole thing which welds onto the axle (and on the front driver's side) incorporates the shock mount. Seems these are hard to find - anyone know of a place that sells them? I know axle manufacturers use them, so someone must be...

Been searching since this morning - factory winch option?

OK, so while back I recall someone posting up about a factory installed winch option on the XJ's in the late eighties (IIRC). I recall someone had one of the original trays and had made a pattern for others to follow if they wanted to make thier own. I also seem to recall that the winch used...

XJ buckets in an MJ - will this work?

OK, swinging my head under the seat does not yield an accurate answer, so I'm asking ya'll... Will buckets from an XJ bolt onto the brackets ALREADY HOLDING my bench seat? (They're factory.) They LOOK the same as XJ brackets, and any minor floor/mounting differences between the two chassis (XJ...

Looking for power and economy mods on non-ho motors

So I took the plunge backwards and bought my 89 Comanche. Got rid of the 94 Cherokee. It's all good, but there is a lot less out there for the older, non-ho motors in terms of bolt on's etc. I'd appreciate any info folks have accumulated on finding things like thottle body spacers 9or plans...

MJ/XJ door speaker mounting depth ?

What is the mounting depth here? I'd like to mount a 6 1/2" speaker, but I have no idea, before I buy, if the windows will cycle all the way down with a 6 1/2" speaker in place and, obviously, I need to consider the mounting depth. Any have these measurements?

Anyone bob the tail end of a Comanche?

I was looking at it last night and it looks like it's gonna drag - the departure angle kinda licks...LOL I'm toying with ideas on building a custom bumper with integral skids to allow the rear to slide on the underside of the bumper when needed...but the idea of chopping a few inches out of...

MJ dudes - how'd you lift and how high did you go?

I've been searchng like a maniac for the last few days (here and elsewhere), so I think I'm shell-shocked right now after reading so many threads... For those who have lifted MJ's, how did you do it? SOA, Cherokee front end lift kit? Etc. I'm planning mine now and want to end up about 4 -...
