I have a chry 8.25 with a driveshaft made for that axle (length wise) and I just got a Dana 44 and I know they are longer in the pinion area so should I invest in a new driveshaft considering that I have only about two inches of spline travel before it bottoms out at ride height. o ya I have 4.5...

I was looking at 4 wheel parts and they offer a 4.88 gear set from precision gear that is used for the 3.73 and up carrier and a 4.88 "thick" set for a 3.73 and down carrier. But is there any strength difference between the two?
