Go on D.C.'s Jeep website under contacts and give them your VIN and they will email you a complete build sheet for your vehicle showing packages and options. Had mine in 15 minutes.
Checked in forum search didn't find anything. Going down the highway, jeep starts drifting slowly to left, when you correct it then it wants to drift slowly to the right. XJ has 55,000 miles on it and is bone stock. Thanks ahead of time.
Thinking of installing a winch on my 2000 XJ. At the present time I cannot lift it due to having to take my 84 Year old mom to doctors, etc. When I install the winch and bumper what can I do to level it and what does the extra weight do as far as wear on the front end?
Had this happen to me also, it was in an older ford. I thought I would run engine cleaner through it, mistake! Since then I have worked in auto parts and see more trashed engines because of those cleaners. Clean your screen asap and change your oil. The cleaner will thin your oil causing lower...
Had a 98 ZJ, it had the 249. Full time except for low lock. Had a lot of cv axle joint problems and viscous coupler. Sold it and got a Cherokee, love it and no problems.
I've looked at all the threads and havn't found one like this problem. The Cherokee is stock. Driving down the road at about 55 mph I start to get a rumble with slight vibration that continues at least to 80 mph. The front hub bearings and axle jnts have been replaced as well as the rear axle...
I believe Coopers and Mastercraft are made at the same place but I have not seen the Courser C/T type tread in Cooper's line. It's more of a snow tire tread, a little more aggresive than the Courser A/T.
Bought a 2000 Cherokee with 136,000 miles on it. Changed to Synthetic and it started leaking out the o-ring on the oil filter adapter and the valve cover gasket. Changed back and within 200 miles it has almost stopped leaking.
Try Mastercraft Courser C/T's. Good in rain and excellent in snow. Have them on my 2000XJ and the wife's Hemi Ram w/ 20" wheels. Courser tires always wear and handle real well. I hate BADYEAR tires. Have had 3 sets belts have seperated in all sets.
Just because you flushed the heater core doesn't mean it got all of the corrosion out. New heater cores are usually not that expensive, it's just the hassle of changing it. Used to work in a auto parts store and sold alot of cores after guys tried to flush them out.
There is more that can cause front end shimmy at 55-60 mph than tire balance. I have 2 2000 cherokee's, one has 55000 miles and the other has 136000 miles. The 136000 miles one has a shimmy at 52 - 58 mph. The tires have been balanced 3 times by different shops. Still has shimmy. Moved tires...
I have a 98 GC Limited 4.0L, Quadratrac, 56000 miles . I recently had the same problem. It turned out to be the CV joints in the front axles. Dealer replaced both and problem was cured. I have also heard the V.C. can do this too, but not as probable, at my mileage anyway. The mechanic and I took...
Would you know if the back spacing are the same and the clearance of the 15" XJ wheels to the ZJ rear calipers and rotors, as the ZJ wheels are 16"? Thanks again!
I have a 98 ZJ Limited with 16" wheels. I want to swap them onto my 2000 XJ as I'm selling the ZJ and want to keep my new BFG's. Will the swap work both directions? Thanks for any help!
