    TSF Noobfest: 5/8

100% agree with this - we've stopped in to pick up maps for friends several times over the years, all the stores and gas stations were out and all said they had no idea when they'd be getting more. Permits? Same thing. We lucked out a few weeks ago, the Shell station had just gotten a new book...

This just made me a little ill.

A little further off topic - my wife's Grandfather (celebrating his 90th in a few months) was a P-38 pilot in the Pacific. He loved that plane more than any others that he'd flown, before, during, or after the war (was a pilot his entire life). A few years after he returned from Okinawa, his...

    driving with cracked header

I just had the same thing happen - I've noticed that the Jeep is a little off on power, idles and cruises a little rougher, and my mileage got progressively worse over a few cycles. I'm in the market for a new header at this point.

playing with my cutter Jeep Jeep Jeep Jeep

One of our managers was tagging employee cars with bumper stickers that read "I *heart* Midgets", and "I *heart" @nal". I thought it was incredibly funny until my mother-in-law told me I had the later sticking to the front valance of our Dodge when we stopped by for a visit. :roflmao: My...

    Tube frame titling?

Your best bet would be to contact the DMV. Since you're asking the question in an XJ forum, one would assume the build is based on an XJ. Titling should be done off the VIN of the donor vehicle, though I think a certain percentage of the original vehicle needs to remain.

    Scale XJ offroader

Wow - old thread. The cheaper, lexan (polycarbonate) bodies are on their way - Proline's XJ: I've been in to RC for over 30 years, kinda stay on top of this stuff.

    TSF on the 20th?

Keith - Didn't get your message until I woke up this morning, my voicemail notifications are pretty crappy. I had to do something for my mom this morning, so we got a late start - obviously couldn't call you once you were up there. I think we may have passed each other today - shows how well we...

    Daddy got new shoes

I've got the older MT/R, they do just about everything well. If they've improved on it, I can't imagine how well they'd perform. As far as it being the best "all around tire", my vote would be "yes!", but there will still be some differing opinions.

    Daddy got new shoes

Yeah, the best I've found was around $199 each on 33x12.5's. That includes mounting and balancing at a friend's shop. $193 ea for KM2's.

    TSF on the 20th?

I think I may be able to meet up to wheel this weekend. Got the u-joint replaced, the Jeep is going down the road well enough now. Somehow (the exhaust system is terrible) managed to crack the one of the tubes on my header (not manifold), so it's got a nasty exhaust leak. I've come to the...

    Daddy got new shoes

It's a sad state of affairs when I won't buy a set of tires due to asthetics. I'll be in the market for a new set of tires after summer, currently have the older MT/R's. I've been trying to decide if it's time to try some KM2's, and this may have pushed me over the edge. Just can't do white...

    TSF Feb 19-21

I picked up a Precision last night - it's all they had. They came highly recommended by a friend (not as highly as Spicer), though I did intend to go with Spicer. It started with a noise, then turned in to a nasty vibration. The joint was all but seized on one axis - it could almost hold the...

    TSF Feb 19-21

Sorry to resurrect the thread. Now I'm REALLY bummed I missed this run - just didn't have time to mess around with the Jeep much over the past few weeks. Couldn't have asked for a simpler solution - I thought I was looking at rebuilding my TC or replacing the pinion bearing.

    Do you know this jeep?

Did the previous owner include the hardware to connect the swaybars?
