MWC's Redbird Cleanup - Mark Your Calendars!

Have to say it was one of the better weekends this year so far for me. Glad to meet you all, enjoyed the work and wheelin'. Thanks to the guys with the turkey fryer, and to Rev for straightening out Josh?'s front end after the little (big) tree slam. Yeah, we all had a little damage, but it was all in good fun. Except the Nissan, I think he would say that wasn't too pleasant. ;) Thanks for a good time Ed

JIM.

I had a blast. Have very little additional body damage.

Good to see some new faces.

You guys all made the weekend..

Anyone know if Josh made it home OK?

Rev

They made it about 5 miles down the road and his coolant light came on so they took brad's off the trailer and he drove it home.

I also ended up with your chainsaw! :D If you want I can take it to my Grandpa's and have him go over it and see f he can get it going good. Thats what he does on the side now that he is retired.

Hey guys, keep in mind that our agreement with Indiana DNR requires us to do a clean up twice a year. We'll have our second clean up sometime toward the end of their season which is around Thanksgiving time. We've not got an exact date set yet, but keep it in mind!

Thanks again for a sucessful clean up day!

My pics are uploading.......

^^ What he said. Made Josh (XJosh95) drive my scary negative-caster XJ and I trailered his back up to his house near South Bend. It'll be a while before it's fully back, need to pull the head and change the head gasket, because coolant is definitely going places it shouldn't.

Jim (ILLXJ) had a fuel leak out of his gas door, AND a small fire in the hatch, within about 5 minutes of each other... could have turned out bad. That rock garden is brutal!

My Jeep was already pretty banged up and my LH taillight was busted, so I received little additional damage :) Had an absolute blast both on the trails and around the campfire, personally I'm glad that we "have" to do this cleanup twice a year! It won't take any arm twisting to get me out there in 6 months!

That really was my favorite shirt!

Well, guys. I'll tell you, that was the best fun I've ever had wrecking any one of my vehicles. The company we keep is outstanding. You guys are turning into extended family. I'm sad to confrim what Flexd and GoSlowGetStuck have already said. I didn't make it home under my own power. I however, do have one of the best friends I could ask for who was more than willing to trailer my Heep the extra 100 miles from his place to mine and drive the 100 miles back with an empty trailer.

I can't say thank you enough to Rev, Hale, IllXJ Jim and everyone else for their help, advice, compassion and all around great company. The fire side chats were sweet and I really enjoyed Rev's cigar he gave me.

I'll take some time and get her fixed so I can come on out again sometime, maybe even the fall clean-up. I look forward to seeing you all, and hopefully more, next time! :wave1:

Hale, that was a cool shirt, but it smoldering was pretty entertaining. My door dent was smooth enough to kick out, just a few scars. I am looking forward to the next clean-up too. I will gather all my forestry type stuff, and bring my 009 and plenty of chains. Man that was fun.
Josh, I figured that steam puffing was a head gasket, that thing was WAY too hot. Like it blew out the side... Glad you guys made it home safe, see ya next time. Ed

Alright, here they are:

Don't let that get out, they have reputations to uphold :gag:

looks like a good time was had, and work was done. prior commitments kept me from being there, but maybe next time. It is a longer drive for me to get to Redbird then Attica :D

Should be early November.

thanks Mike, I will keep that in mind. November is a pretty non-eventful month for me, except for eating turkey......
