Ive always been impressed with how clean and functional your fabrication has been in years past, and this project looks to be no different. :yelclap:

Then I made some quarter panel guards out of 3/16" plate to skin the sides and add some protection:

I used countersunk bolts and the bottom edge will be fully welded to the tube. This will also match my front fenders.

Very very nice! I've looked through a lot of your tech posts over the years, read your book, and drooled at pictures of your XJ. I can't wait to see your rig finished!

(At least until the next stage, remember when your XJ was stock? :D)

Eric, results show you're putting thought into this! Your clean work area is impressive.
How are you cutting your plate? Plasma then clean up with grinder?
Jig saw? Cutting disk in grinder?
