Tracking Down Old Cars

Hello all,
Does anyone have any info on how to track down old cars. My father used to have a 1952 Hudson Hornet (Doc from Cars) and I'm trying to track it down. I have the licence plate number from when he owned it and I'm currently tracking down the vin number. Once I get the vin where should I start?

This won't answer your question, but you might look into this. Moebius Models os in the process of.releasing. that generation of Hudon, complete with a Twin H mill! I've seen many pics of it over the last year and plan on getting the first one that comes into my store!

Not really for older than 1981 when they standardized VINs.

This is true, maybe if it is a muscle car or something collectable there may be a registry somewhere on-line on a forum.
