Brings back so many memories. Glad you got it figured out. Definitely one of the messiest jobs out there. They should have an episode of "Dirty Jobs" featured on replacing a RMS on an XJ.

Not too messy. The low temps helped keep the oil on the block where it belonged. Not as messy as a pain the the a$$. Too many bolts to take the pan off, got it lined up fine, but too many damn bolts. At least i wont have to do it for a while now.

For the next time huh replace about four of the bolts with studs.

Ugh. This is my Spring 2010 project. It was my Spring 2009 project, but I'm lazy. Good advice with the studs.
