JC Whitney Arb lockers

I just got the phone message from JC Whitney stating that they will not be filling my order.

I'm betting they are spending a good deal of time making these phone calls.

I'm thinking I should at least call them back and take up some more of their time.

Edit to add: I also just got a couple of emails from them. Interesting in that the one email admits they had a pricing issue, yet they can still order the part for me: "We should still be able to order the product/s for you, but we need you to give us a call back in order for us to see what we can do to help you out with this inconvenience." In the other email the state they are cancelling the order because the item is out of stock, but if I would like to order something different they would be happy to take my money.

I wonder what the rules are on "bait and switch".

On the one hand I could place an order for something that is out of stock, while on the other hand they are cancelling the order because it is out of stock.

I'm thinking JC Whitney is most certainly not being run by the best and brightest.

My order was denied. Just got a phone call this morning and an email:

We regret to inform you that we had a pricing issue on the item/s that you ordered from us.

We have already cancelled this order and will be processing a refund to your account. You will be refunded within the next 48 hours. We should still be able to order the product/s for you, but we need you to give us a call back in order for us to see what we can do to help you out with this inconvenience.

In this regard, please contact one of our parts specialists at 866-503-5156 and we will be more than happy to help you with this issue. Failure to call back within the day, though, will enable our system to automatically process a refund for you.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you and we are looking forward to hearing from you soon.

I called.

Just because.

"Gibbs" said they are cancelling "thousands" of orders.

I guess ARB now has a better idea of the volume they could move at a lower price point.

If they sold near the same price point of automatic lockers like the Spartan, Lockrite, and Aussie, I am sure that most people would would buy the ARB instead. The only thing that would hold people back would be setting up the gear.

JC Whitney called me while I was typing this. My order is canceled. The lady said that there was a pricing issue on one of the items and the other one is out of stock and there is a pricing issue on it as well. They are canceling my order at "no cost" to me.

Oh well. I wonder if ARB will allow them to still sell their products.

ETA:Just got the email to say that its out of stock.

I got this in an email a few hours ago.

My refund has been process and the money is in my PayPal account. Oh well. It would have been nice if the jc Whitney representative who called didn't try to make it sound like it was my fault they had the wrong price. I never considered buying anything from jc Whitney before, but because the customer service I received was so bad I probably won't again in the future. Oh well, it was worth a try!
