House Federal Budget that is serious about getting America back on track

The belief that global warming can be controlled is delusional.

Taxation for the sake of such a delusional belief would be criminal.

We don't need to elect more Reps or Dems... we need to elect more Constitutional Libertarians.

BTW, Reps originally pledged to cut $100B... and defund Obamacare if they couldn't repeal it...... :smsoap:

The point you didnt get for some reason was that you and the other global warming deniers are a rapidly shrinking minority somewhere in the extreme right.

Opinion. Got any facts to back this statement up?

You realize that even if by mistake we elect another conservative president, he will disagree with you on this issue and you wont be considered part of his so called base, dont you?

I'm not part of anyones base.....Independant voter here.

Last, but not least...Congratulations on your victory. Wait...Do I remember the republicans wanting to cut $61B as opposed to the $33B that democrats were agreeing to?

Proof that you're so eager to promote your agenda that you didn't fully read my post.

The bill calls for the government to spend $1.049 trillion in 2011, which is $37.7 billion lower than 2010 levels.

Still, the size of those cuts is dwarfed by the projected deficit, which is expected to be about $1.5 trillion this year. And the deficit for March alone was $189 billion, or five times the cuts made in the full-year bill.

Even before details of the bill came out, some conservative Republicans were assailing it. Rep. Mike Pence, R-Ind., said he probably won't vote for the measure, and tea party favorite Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., is a "nay" as well.

And in another blow Tuesday, Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, announced he'll oppose the bill in a vote Thursday. Jordan's opposition is noteworthy because he chairs the Republican Study Committee, with a membership that makes up a sizable majority of GOP lawmakers.
"Americans want us to reach higher, act bolder, and remember the job we were sent here to do," Jordan said.

A 90% world population reduction would solve all these problems.

Bring on Armageddon. (yes, I'm serious)

It has already begun. Saw an ad on the side of a bus that said Judgement Day will be May 21st, 2011. I guess the Mayans were wrong.

Bahahahaha!!! More water subsidies to farmers? Where do you think every single drop of water in the Central and Imperial valleys comes from? Tax-payer funded, heavily subsidized water projects hauling water from the Colorado River. How about we figure out ways to reduce water consumption and put a halt on developing land out here? Most of southern CA is a desert once you get east of the mountains. The Central Valley doesn't have enough water to support the farming going on there, neither does Imperial Valley. Yet we keep building and expanding, shipping water from hundreds of miles away to feed our growth. The Colorado doesn't even reach its mouth in the Gulf of California anymore. Back in the 80's we had to start building a desalinization plant in Yuma to strip the salt out of the water we had promised Mexico. It was killing their crops. The Colorado River Compact was made back in 1922 after a series of years of abnormally high flow. It generally flows below the level they used to divvy up the water, sometimes way below. We're using every drop of that river, and most of the states involved haven't even been using their full allotments yet. CA has consistently been over and AZ was set to use their full amount back in 2005. Check out the Ogalalla Aquifer in the mid west: about 40myrs ago, they made a compact to divvy up its waters. The states then each made plans for the responsible usage of said water...to dry it up within 25-50 yrs. Parts of TX have been sinking as the water is sucked out from under them.

How about we figure out how to use our water smartly before it turns into the next major crisis? Figuring out how to survive once we've used up all our water will be extremely costly.

There was a reason that the Spanish did not heavily colonize calif, no water.

Another house cleaning coming up in 2012.

You mean the 20% or less who actually vote? Wake up your friends and neighbors ........

Here's a successfull self made man running for President.

Cain's pretty intriguing on the surface, but still has some explaining to do reguarding his years as Chairman/Deputy Chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, defense of The Federal Reserve, and backing of the TARP bail-out "recovery plan". Cain has also openly supported nationalizing the banks after remaining pretty damned quiet during GWB's spending-spree years. He doesn't appear to be a true "smaller government" candidate.

How about defunding every taxpayer funded junk science program.

I think that 'junk science programs' are valuable. It isn't welfare or other programs that your money can be essentially lost in. Funding science is an investment. I'm dissapointed we cut funding to NASA. I suppose I'm not surprised however... we aren't in a cold war and we've turned a majority liberal, so we have no desire what so ever to compete with another country. Our technological gain was incredible during the space race. Now people are just more interested with what their country can do for them instead of what they can do for their country... They see money funding science programs as a waste and would rather have that money fund social programs that ends up putting money in their own pockets.

I agree! I would also like to see some of the welfare money diverted to vocational schools to teach some of the kids that got "left behind" a trade and some self respect. The public schools like to keep them in regular education classes for the money and then dump them out on the street without an education and no job skills.

The "Head Start" program for school children was implemented in 1965 under Lyndon B. Johnson...

The "No Child Left Behind" program was implemented in 2001 under George W. Bush...

Head Start ---> Left Behind......... Head Start ---> Left Behind.........

Sounds to me like somebody's losing ground...

EDIT: Never said NASA was junk science.

To your other points, that's the Socialist agenda, straight from their "Rules for Radicals" playbook (you can thank their heros Saul Alinsky, Cloward and Piven and Karl Marx ).

Convince the majority of the population that they will be better off if the government is in charge of every aspect of their life and then regulate their very existence.

Let's use the nearly bankrupt State of California as a perfect example of how entitlement programs, union control of every industry (including government employees) and over-regulation will destroy the economy and create a welfare dependent demographic who have slowly led down the path towards bondage.

Crawler, I would like to add the "Early Head Start". In my county, we created a birth to 3yr. old facility for the high school kids so they can drop off their babies on their way to breakfast at the school. It may encompass more than that, but that is my take on it. edit: This is one of the last "educational" programs we have in the county that isn't hurting for money. They buy new toys (and furnishings) every year and throw away the old. It isn't even donated to charity.

Let's role play a situation:

*Your company is hemorrhaging cash, falling deeper into debt than even your accountants can imagine.

*You choose to INCREASE spending, claiming “ya gotta spend money to make money.”

*You are also so busy arguing with middle management that you can’t find time to make a budget that might get you back on track.

*It appears that your job is about to be eliminated.

*There is only one thing left to do – give bonuses to as many employees as possible!

Here’s the assignment — explain your actions to shareholders. They are especially interested in hearing your thought process on the bonuses.

Recent poll shows a whopping 9% of voters think Congress is doing a good or excellent job, and 50% rate Congressional job performance as “poor.”

National Survey of 1,000 Likely Voters
Conducted May 19-20, 2011
By Rasmussen Reports

Questions:

1* Generally speaking, how do you rate the way that Congress is doing its job….excellent good fair or poor?

2* Over the past year, has Congress passed any legislation that will significantly improve life in America?

3* What is a more important role for Congress – passing good legislation or preventing bad legislation from becoming law?

4* Are most members of Congress sincerely interested in helping people or are they just interested in their own careers?

5* Are most members of Congress corrupt?
