A Time To Grieve

Hope someone f*cks up? How about watchin a skater? I would never HOPE our president F*cks up, rather, why not hope he sees that socialism is the wrong thing for us? How about hope he can get certain individuals to see that hard work beats living from hand to mouth on the system? There are plenty of things I hope Obama does, none of which involves fing up. Well I do want to see a president do a faceplant gettin off the chopper, but, hey that's just me. BTW penis envy, that was good.

If our government would stay true to the lawful FORM of government, I think people might feel more secure. Unfortuantely King George, with the apathy of Congress, has seized and established in the executive far more power than our constitutionally provided FORM of government would allow. He has gone to war without declaration, he has signed bills he disagrees with by including "signing statements" which identify the portions he does not intend to uphold, and now we have vested in the executive, the APPOINTED secretary of treasury the power to nationalize businesses as he sees fit - anyone who thinks it is limited to $700B better read the act.

What affect does all this have upon an Obama presidency?? King George has created the "UNITARY EXECUTIVE", and that is what Obama inherits. He has the power and authority, albeit under unconstitutional legislation and unconstitutional executive order, to do whatever he pleases. If the democrat-controled congress did not have the stones to stand up to King George when they at least stated to despise all his policies, what misguided hope do you have that they will stand up to the newly anointed messiah??

Both parties are hopelessly corrupt, and the GOP can hardly scream about socialism after initiating the nationalization of our finacial markets and banking. Those who put faith in all of the wolves that are "guarding" the hen house that is our government put faith in a falacy -- there are no hens left. Only the people can manifest the change necessary, by educating themselves and their neighbors about the liberties we stand to loose and have already lost, by inundating your representatives with telephone calls, emails, letters etc., by screaming to the heavens, and hell, maybe even running for office and trying to fix it from the inside.

I do not have any particular dislike for Obama. He seems well spoken, well educated, and sincere. That said, I have no hope that he shares my vision, and that of our founders, of liberty, and change for change sake is not the kind of change I can believe in. No sour grapes, cause I couldn't bring myself to vote for the warmonger McCain either...

Well, as long as you realize that regardless of who was elected we'd have the same problems with the gov't overstepping their bounds.

without a doubt. There was only one man with answers in this past election cycle, and he was labeled a 'kook' and excluded from the process. The failures that will be attributed to Obama 4 years from now would have been the same failures of the GOP had they won -- I do not hope for the worst, except that perhaps the worst will awaken our sleeping citizenry to insist upon real CHANGE, change back to the limited government republic in which we are supposed to live.

The 2004 election was not the same as this one, that was a Dem vs Rep situation, this is Capitalism vs Socialism, huge difference

^ I agree with that thought. And also the fact that its NOT so much the person who is to become to new president, but the VOTERS who got him in there. Not a sore loser, not a whiner and not ready to get all religious and hope for the best, but entirely the fact that everthing this country was laid out to be, is SO far from everyones eyes of this nation that its sickening. And the fact that those people are outnumbering the few of us who believe in what our founding fathers did, THAT'S the scary part.

I continue to share my POV but it doesn't feel credible or worth discussing when this just becomes a sh*t flinging contest of obama supports vs opposers. If it was a healthy discussion on both sides this entire election zone would be a little more enlightening.

Guns sure are selling though...Glad I'm on the side that owns them.

he has the basic ideas as Kerry, but Obama is socialist?

There uis never a reason to hope for someone to fuck up. Let them do what they do. If they dont fuck up, then everuything works out, so again, why HOPE he fucks up?

There has been some poor choices made and I DO NOT BELIEVE OBAMA WAS A GOOD CHOICE, but regardless, he is the president of this great country and for that position I have the utmost respect.

I do not hope that he screws up, the set backs could be devestating. I hope he is the best thing that ever happened to this country, I hope every opinion I have about him is wrong. I hope he turns the problems around and returns the faith to those who are weak and weary.

Ron Paul?

I voted for him in the primaries.

Now is the time to grieve for the few minutes I lost while reading this thread...

America will be fine...

perhaps even do better (gasp!)

and no, I'm not left or right wing leaned.

Just a realist.

that is a fair view

 yes that is a fair view, they are both in time and seem to have the same mug, and seem very balanced in form. Yes, that does seem very fair. Holy cow, they only have one arm apiece, the government have taken their arms, NO that is not fair at all, my friend, not fair at all.

LOL. I had to read it a couple of times before I got it! Nice.

The dems may have control in the house/senate but they didn't reach the 60 seats needed to block filibuster.
True but he will have the power to CHANGE that number of 60

A good quote:

“Hide from the children the moral superiority of liberty, and demonize those who defend it as greedy and self centered hate mongers.
Redefine morality as the willingness to allow one American to send the government to steal from another American to make life fair.
Then replace the belief in God in public life with the belief in government policy as the source of human hope and salvation.
Then, teach it in the government schools and let it simmer for about 40 years.
Serve steaming hot on a platter of hope & change, and wash it down with a generous gulp of class envy.
And hope that Americans don't notice the difference between the choices that they had in life before, and what government affords them now.”

If you've got Religion, you have a problem you don't know about. Kinda like the "Invasion of the Body Snatchers".

As for voting for one puppet over the other, have a look at what Carlin has to say. Fair warning: he's a little bit of a realist.

Y'know I am sorry you feel that way, I have nothing against Canada, you have always been a good neighbor, but G.K. Chesterton said that, "...America is a nation with the soul of a church." We were founded on a premise of religious liberty and founded in a way that has made us the longest lived republic in human history and the most enduring government on this planet with the arguable exception of England. Frankly I think the problem is yours.

George Carlin could not be more of a moron in these videos. When I look at the history of your fair nation I am at a loss to come up with the name of a single great world leader? Anybody? You might be able to make an argument for one, but I certainly cannot. When I look at the history of ours I can come up with dozens. There is something about America that breeds greatness, Carlin is not a realist, he is making a fool out of himself in the face of a great nation and a great history. :patriot:

John Elway 2012! :D

.

No, he doesn't have that power. The voters do.

And if you honestly think that he will give himself that power, why don't you get the fuck out now and save yourself the hassle.
