So xj-grin, when you said "it took some massaging of the wheelwells to get them to fit" did you mean with a sledge? and is that instead of trimming the lower edge of the seat cushion?

What did you use for the back of the bolts for the seat back (besides nuts)? Big washers?

Hey - I talked with you a while ago about WJ seat swaps, and got my fronts in and am going to try for the rear seats, but your pics are no longer accessable. I'm trying to figure out how to bolt the seat backs in place. Thanks, Mike

But where are those 12 holes? I'm guessing (and can figure out) where the holes for the seat base go, but it's where the ones for the seat back go that I'm not clear on. Any chance to take those pics?

I ended up using some Permatex Hylomar that I had - blue stuff , says it's good for thermostat housings and water pumps, has a temp range of -60°F to +500°F, and resists engine fluids, including water, coolant, gasoline, lubricating oils, kerosene and some refrigerants. Put a very thin layer on...

so I'm about to reinstall my thermostat and waterpump, and question about the gasket - anything I should use with it, to make it seal better? Also, When the waterpump failed, it shaved some of the inside of the housing - looks like most of that got pumped into the radiator, which I'm replacing...

I didn't quite make it home this morning... The XJ overheated (way into the red) and white smoke/steam coming from the hood. I noticed it at the stop sign, and figured it started leaking coolant a bit ealier, maybe 2 miles or so (rear window seemed to "fog" up but now I know it was coolant)...

I picked up a full set of WJ seats, and the fronts are easy enough, but I was wondering exactly where the rear brackets mount - if anyone had some pictures of the seat back brackets. Thanks, Mike

I haven't experienced them loosening up. I was just surprised the Craftsman allen socket kept breaking on me, till I went with a cheaper tool.
