    CB questions

I mounted mine right smack in the middle of the roof. It hits a few trees, but the spring is light enough to lay the antenna completely flat without complaining. I hit my rear quarters a LOT, so I'm glad I didn't use that mounting location. YMMV

Check it out almost done, pics

I dig it. I think it looks good. More stereo than I would've preferred, but it's defnitely impressive. I will say one thing, though. If you paid for a cherokee and all those mods (60s f&r, 40" IROKs, mega stereo) off 2 summers worth of lawns, I'm quittin this fulltime job BS and grabbin me a...

L.E.D stop and turn signals. Has anyone used those ?

I think quite a few people on here have switched to truck LEDs. I used 3/8" steel instead of sheetmetal, but I didn't cover the entire rear 1/4 like some have. The lights were cheap ($20 or so) and yes, they're incredibly bright. slow server. sorry.

wristed radius arms and big boobs

Scott at Rockstomper still runs wristed radius arms front and rear on his green yota. It flexes okay, I guess. =) I run a wristed radius arm and I agree with FarmerMatt to a degree. The Cherokee is too tippy and not balanced flex-wise enough to take advantage of gobs of front flex. I was maxing...

    crossmember reinforcement/more clearance mod

Whew, this is painful. I'm not disagreeing with anyone. I'm not saying a flat stock crossmember will work. I just want indisputable proof that it WON'T work. I haven't seen that yet. This is sorta like the guys on JU saying a Cherokee will fold in half if you take the doors out. I don't know...

    crossmember reinforcement/more clearance mod

I don't doubt that a flat crossmember will flex. How bout any flat stock crossmember failures? (deja vu) Notice that I've never disagreed with anything said here. What I'm asking for here is more than an educated guess based on what people expect flat stock to do. I'm asking for someone who...

    crossmember reinforcement/more clearance mod

Good idea, but it didn't answer either of my questions. =)

    crossmember reinforcement/more clearance mod

I don't doubt that a flat crossmember will flex. How bout any flat stock crossmember failures? Also, does anyone know how much weight the crossmember does support when sitting still (obviously, the weight it must be capable of supporting is much greater when going over bumps or dips)? I...

    crossmember reinforcement/more clearance mod

Any proof that flat stock isn't strong enough?

    Roof Rack + Wheeling = ?

looks to me like you're evaluating two different products here: a roof rack and Matt's kick ass roof guards. Since I've never seen another roof rack quite like that and I also see no reason why you couldn't have the roof guards without the rack, I'd judge them separately. With that in mind, I...

    skyjacker 8" coils

Same experience. No complaints, they ride nice, flex well. I haven't personally confirmed it, so take it with a grain of salt, but I recall seeing a chart at one time that said the Skyjacker 8" coils were within 5 lb/in of the RE 5.5" coils. If that's true, that might give you an idea of how...

Replace 6" leaf pack, what brand?

I'll probably catch flak for this, but I recommend looking into Tomken. I'm running their 6" rear springs and really like them. Lotsa flex, no sag yet that I've noticed and they didn't break the bank. I've read a lot of old reports that said Tomken springs tend to sag, but I believe they...

    bead locks

This topic is covered about once a month on Pirate4x4 , so I won't bother repeating it here. The main gist of it is that a lot of people mention legality when it comes to beadlocks, but no one can produce a written law anywhere that says they're not legal. For what it's worth, there are quite a...

Design, geometry and functionality of tracbar-less suspension

It's not my terminology, it's real old school terminology used in suspension design. It's what you'll find in literature about designing race suspensions, from F1 to dirt track. I have no idea why they don't count the track bar as a link, but the general rule is that links that play no part in...

Design, geometry and functionality of tracbar-less suspension

Exactly. Ford named their two-link system "radius arms" and that term seems to be pretty popular. EIther way, that's what you have.
