Five things that make your junk, junk.

#1 bring front up to match rear (looks like a cat in heat)
#2 Replace leaky steering box/lines
#3 replace windshield
#4 Rocker 2x6" replacements (oops)
#5 More stickers

1;replace entire steering column, gears, pump.
2;re-weld both front door hinges so they actually close & stay shut the FIRST time being closed
3;find & fix oil leaks (valve cover & rear main?) & cherry juice leaks (tranny/t-case?)
4; replace worn out (non-op) ds front window motor (it's pissin mommy off)
5; replace worn out & half non-op electric seats

big ONE.... tires!!! before most anything else!!!

1. Heater only blows on defrost setting and only luke warm
2. WD40 locks so they unlock/lock the first time
3. Replace rear Bumper (sat at work for a year & is now in my living room staring at me)
4. Head Light/Turn Signal Frame
5. Replace back seat (sitting in garage)

The 97 is fine minus the hatch not opening.

The 95:
1. Holes in the floor
2. the idiot PO took out all the interior trim and didn't re-install it
3. the exhaust piping needs replaced
4. "Frame" is cracked around the steering box
5. Tires look like drag slicks!

sounds like a thermostat or clogged heater core, need to degrease and properly lube the latches (ask me how I know... ever pull the door paneling off an XJ front door without opening it?)

I haven't fixed any of the stuff on my list yet :dunno: except I let the spare tire tip over on my OBA tank so at least it's not going anywhere anymore.

Oh, and the new MJ...
1. move spare engine out of the bed, or at least tie it down so it stops sliding around when I corner, also move spare front driveshaft, radiator, and 3 spare tires out of bed
2. find out where that ultra strong gas smell is coming from and fix it :boom:
3. replace headliner so it becomes less like a headscarf
4. replace brake cylinders and bleed them so I get less than 5" of pedal travel before the brakes engage
5. replace windshield, 2 foot long crack right across field of vision

There's way more, but that's the worst of it...

and the vacuum hose going to the canister behind the front bumper must be broke, unhooked. That's what changes your vents.

Bring acetone and ATF if it's the rear ones... god I hate the frame side mounts on those

more for the MJ list... discovered that I'm missing a wheel stud on the right rear, and probably will be missing another by the time I get the wheel off. Luckily not a hard repair and I'll have the shafts out anyways for the brake cylinders.

Yup. 50/50 mix of transmission fluid and acetone, from all reports it outperforms AeroKroil, PB-Blaster, Liquid Wrench, WD-40 etc as a penetrating oil.

Man i need to mix me some of that up!

ever pull the door paneling off an XJ front door without opening it?

:wierd: yes actualy i have.
had to do that when we got it home the day after buyin it. (it was locked the key wasn't working & the lock lever didn't want to work either).
so now it is a "real" jeep..... never locked :laugh2:

Yeah, I ended up doing the same thing. For a few months I played the "throw it in park, get out, let passenger hop in, get back in" trick, then my brake line blew up and I slid into a guardrail, so I absolutely had to get the passenger door open to replace the fender since there are 2-3 bolts under there. Now I know how to open the doors without unlocking them... as long as there is no paneling on the inside!

1.motor with 249k,leaky rear main,no compression,or resembalance of oil pressure lol and did I mention a totally flat cam with the most annoying lifter tick lol
2.Floridas own,orange peel .everywhere.
3.dime size rust hole in rear floor
4.slutty reverse gear that has to see 1-5 before itl go in although I blame my ahem used trans fluid, crusty old wobbly throwout bearing and worn out clutch for this,it is an ax-15 after all lol
5.cracked rear taillight thanks to a chrysler vagina van that had no place being at XXXXin walker valley.

Aint that the truth...

New list, sorta:
96 XJ "taco deathtrap":
* no floors in the back. At all. As in, the metal is not present. All my stuff is sitting on the frame rails and gas tank. passenger side leaf spring shackle is mounted using stacks of washers and a large quantity of booger welded 1/8" and 1/4" plate.
* strange scraping noise while moving... something on the driveshaft or wheels... couldn't figure out what it was while filling tank... don't care.
* fill tube on gas tank leaks slightly right at tank, vent tube not connected, drive with windows open.
* fenders still aren't properly cut, just enough to not shred the tires while driving on-road.
* bumpstops? what are those?
* passenger LCA bracket on d30 STILL held on with booger welds and assorted 1/8" plate. Temp fix has now lasted nearly a year.
* license plate jammed between 3rd brake light and rear window to keep it from being stolen again.
* fuel filter, axle vent tube, etc swinging in the breeze
* rear bumper bolts only installed a few turns because I'm gonna have to pull the rear bumper back off to finish replacing the floors one of these months

91 MJ "dirty POS":
* camber is out of wack due to previous owner of axle being awesome and going flying with it
* exhaust is hanging on by a thread, bumper flaps in the wind
* bedliner covering massive rust issues
* no rockers either
* leaks at least 1 quart of oil every 150 miles, if I have to stop quickly on the highway I have my own smoke screen
* water pump leaked a gallon of coolant a day for several weeks, has since stopped, no idea why, may start again at any moment, so I carry a spare plus tools.
* slow leak at one of the fittings on the proportioning valve.
* radiator has almost no fins remaining and several slow pinhole leaks that are being sealed up slowly by coolant residue
* thermostat housing also is being sealed up by coolant residue
* AC evaporator fins are emulating slinkies

98 XJ:
* no carpet... who cares
* well, that's about it. This one isn't really that ghetto, that's why I bought it!
