My attempt at Armor . Almost done with passenger side. Just need to finish welding and bolting to reinforcement brackets . Primor and Paint . A little trimining of the plating in the wheel wells. I know it doesnt look astidy or as polished as some of the aftermarket offerings but there is nothing like building something for yourself. Bolting stuff on is fun and everything ,just not the same... This little project is taking about twice as long as I thought it would and costing about double what i had thought it would. I am pleased with the results . I think I have achieved the desired look and the level of protection I was looking for . Ill have to test it out on the rocks ,but so far a ball peen hammer and several forcefull kicks have not denteted or bent the armor . Even with just tack welds I can stand on the fender flares and I am around 250 lbs . Looks like Ill only have time to finsh the one side before I go back work OTR trucking. The driverd side shouldnt take nearly as long. I just need to duplicate what I have already done.

FIFY

Kinda hacky looking IMO.

i've never had trouble seeing where my wheels are pointed with the doors on. the extra protection of the doors gives me slightly more confidence in the rocks.

Seeing how often you break, you could use a little less confidence.. ;)

says the only guy to flop on a fireroad, and the only guy to flop his jeep without even driving it. :D
seeing how little you wheel, maybe i should loan you some.. ;)

Don't care for the door armor don't look great and the door will still cave in after a few hits Id recomend some tube extentions on the rock sliders the work very well and keep trees and rocks off the body better, just be sure to use dom and not hrew

88Trailcrawler it is Hooligan Offroad and Engineering that has those armor tubed fenders $700.00 for all 4. I'm with Greatwhite though. I like building what I can myself. I got in that habit when I V8'ed my 85 XJ back in 92. Nothing was available just Rancho 3" lift, so I cut the ears off some Bronco 4" coils used Chevy 1/2 ton lowering shackles and 4" lift springs 1" blocks and ran 35's after trimming the fenders a bit.
