What was done to YOUR rig(XJ/MJ) today MECHANICALY????

got the knuckles, shafts, and brakes installed today. Worked on drilling out the UCA's but killed a bit. About half done with that.

Looks like I need to get a shorter front drive shaft. Slightly too long to get the stock shaft on the pinion of this thing.

Ordered new shock bushings too to replace the bar pins. Also looks like I'll be running without the sway bar. Mounts are way too close to the springs.

I know this thing is gonna be great when done but I'm starting to wish I had just regeared my stock axles. Project fatigue definitely setting in.

Try keeping a 20 year old beat up Ford running as a never ending project LOL. Hang in there. We traded the Ford 3 days ago. :sunshine:

Didn't get the Track Bar installed today.
But, I Did get the Rear Deck, Steel Diamond Plate, Cut To Fit!

Gonna Pull All of the Plastic Trim from the Interior, This week.
Rear Side Panels & Headliner Trim.
Also gonna Cut & Pull ALL of the Carpet, To Prep for The NEW Floors!

Rain Finally Quit Today & So, Time to Work on the Jeep, After Work.
Will Try & Have the Interior Gutted This Week.
As Much as Possible & Still Drive It to Work & Back!

Really Want to Have the Floors & Interior DONE by Christmas!
Got a Loaner Vehicle Lined Up & will Drop it off Later in the Week 4 Welding!

Then, Install new Headliner & Make New Lower Door Panels.

Then it's Time to Move into My Own Place, Here in Texas.

Wish me Luck,

Any of y'all in Houston have a driveshaft shop you recommend?

so after installing the new V8 ZJ steering, and then getting an alignment... NO MORE DW!!!

Drove it to work this past week as the wife's ride was in the shop.

I have always been nervous about using used injectors. If I am going to keep a rig and put miles on it, I always go new. I worry about flow rate differences between used ones causing wear problems over time on the cylinders, etc. I do not think that the computers even on new rigs regulate flow per cylinder based on the last ignition of a specific cyl. Then need to balanced equal flow rates on each one. Some sellers claim they balance and match the flows.

As to Aftermarket Injectors:
I Installed a Matched Number & Flow Rate Matched Set of Ford MotoSport, 23lb, 4 Hole Injectors, Last Year.
Got them off ebay, NOS (Can't Remember from Who)
But, the Performance Gain in Acceleration, from 35mph & Up @ WOT Is Amazing!
No Mileage Gains, Just Great Throttle Response.
(Especially when Passing at Highway Speeds)
Tranny Kicks Down & Instant Acceleration!
Floor It & Your Gone. Above 35 it Almost Feels like a Late 60's SB V8.
One of the Best Upgrades that I've done.

interesting, how much did you spend? if I may ask

Well folks it is time for some hospital repairs to my rig, ME.

Having two procedures done next week, Monday is a scope rig down the gut to snatch a stuck gall stone out of the bile duct before I get pancreatitis.

Then Thurs-Fri go in to have the gall bladder and its hoard of stones removed. Wish me luck folks. With luck it might help reduce my RH-arthritis issues.

Good luck Mike

Put my high beam off-road headlights in. Waiting for it to get dark...

Worked for 7 Hrs, Pulling the Rear Plastic Side Panels, Trim, Rear Cargo Area Carpet & Rear Seat Back.
But First, I had to remove All My Junk Out of the Jeep!

Getting Ready to Have a New 14GA Steel Diamond Plate Floor Welded In!
Already Have the Steel & Cut to Fit!

Between the Rusted Screws (That I had to Spray w/ PB Blaster, to get Loose) & Tons of Dust & Dirt
(From Living on a Dirt Road for 7 Years) that Had to be Cleaned Out, It Took 4Ever!

Also, Removed the Upholstery Off of the Rear Seat Back Frame & Cut some 16GA Aluminum Diamond Plate, To Cover the Seat Back.

Gonna turn the Rear Seat Area into a Storage Box w/ Locking Lid.

Measured for the Box Front & Drew a Diagram w/ Dimensions.
Now I Need to Cut a Cardboard Template & Buy some 5/8" CDX Plywood.
(Wish I still Had Access to Job Site Scraps, Like I Used To)
All I Need is a piece 8" Wide & 52" Long!
Hate to Have to Buy a Whole Sheet, Just for Such a Small piece.

Anyone Have some 5 ft Long X 8 inch Wide, Scrap Roof Decking?

Hosed the Front Seat Bolts w/ PB Twice Today & Twice Last Week.
Hopefully I Can Get them Loose Tomorrow.
(Gotta Get the Front Carpet Out for the Welder)

Already Have a Set of Full Length Floor Pans & a Set of Front Pans!
(4 Extra Metal, To Use As Needed)

I Know the Driver's Side Seat Bolts Are Rusted Solid.
No Way They're Coming Out!
But, The Pass. Side Looks Like it Should Come Out.
I'll just Cut Around the Driver Seat Mounts & Have Them Cut Out the Seat Base Channel.
(Already Have 14GA 2.25" Square Box Tube to Replace it)
Just gonna have Them Cut & Weld it In & Thru Bolt the Seats to it w/ Grade 5 Bolts.
Gonna Do This for Both Front Seats.

Also bought some 14Ga X 3" Flat Bar for the Back Bolts, on Both Front Seats.
May just Thru Bolt the Back Bolts w/ Grade 5 too.

Tomorrow, I Need to Pull my Trailer Hitch, just to Get To the 2 Bolts 4 the Rear Hatch Bolt/Post/Thingy.
Gotta Do This to Get the Plastic Rear Hatch Sill Trim Out.

After That, I'll Tackle the Front & Try to Get the Pass. Seat Out.

Then, I Hope I can Pull the Headliner Panel. (Got Most of the Trim Pulled Today)
That way I Can Start on That. (Got a Lot Done & Lots More to Do)

Gonna Roll it w/ Epoxy Resin & Turn Into Solid Fiberglass.
(All but 1.5" around the Edges)
Then I'm Covering it w/ Coyote Tan, 1000D, Ballistic Nylon, USMC Duffle Bag Material.
(Waterproof, Rip-Stop & Tough as Nails)

But, For Now, The Floors Are First & Foremost.
Gotta Get This Done, Before the Floor Falls Out from Under Me!
