Worked for 7 Hrs, Pulling the Rear Plastic Side Panels, Trim, Rear Cargo Area Carpet & Rear Seat Back.
But First, I had to remove All My Junk Out of the Jeep!
Getting Ready to Have a New 14GA Steel Diamond Plate Floor Welded In!
Already Have the Steel & Cut to Fit!
Between the Rusted Screws (That I had to Spray w/ PB Blaster, to get Loose) & Tons of Dust & Dirt
(From Living on a Dirt Road for 7 Years) that Had to be Cleaned Out, It Took 4Ever!
Also, Removed the Upholstery Off of the Rear Seat Back Frame & Cut some 16GA Aluminum Diamond Plate, To Cover the Seat Back.
Gonna turn the Rear Seat Area into a Storage Box w/ Locking Lid.
Measured for the Box Front & Drew a Diagram w/ Dimensions.
Now I Need to Cut a Cardboard Template & Buy some 5/8" CDX Plywood.
(Wish I still Had Access to Job Site Scraps, Like I Used To)
All I Need is a piece 8" Wide & 52" Long!
Hate to Have to Buy a Whole Sheet, Just for Such a Small piece.
Anyone Have some 5 ft Long X 8 inch Wide, Scrap Roof Decking?
Hosed the Front Seat Bolts w/ PB Twice Today & Twice Last Week.
Hopefully I Can Get them Loose Tomorrow.
(Gotta Get the Front Carpet Out for the Welder)
Already Have a Set of Full Length Floor Pans & a Set of Front Pans!
(4 Extra Metal, To Use As Needed)
I Know the Driver's Side Seat Bolts Are Rusted Solid.
No Way They're Coming Out!
But, The Pass. Side Looks Like it Should Come Out.
I'll just Cut Around the Driver Seat Mounts & Have Them Cut Out the Seat Base Channel.
(Already Have 14GA 2.25" Square Box Tube to Replace it)
Just gonna have Them Cut & Weld it In & Thru Bolt the Seats to it w/ Grade 5 Bolts.
Gonna Do This for Both Front Seats.
Also bought some 14Ga X 3" Flat Bar for the Back Bolts, on Both Front Seats.
May just Thru Bolt the Back Bolts w/ Grade 5 too.
Tomorrow, I Need to Pull my Trailer Hitch, just to Get To the 2 Bolts 4 the Rear Hatch Bolt/Post/Thingy.
Gotta Do This to Get the Plastic Rear Hatch Sill Trim Out.
After That, I'll Tackle the Front & Try to Get the Pass. Seat Out.
Then, I Hope I can Pull the Headliner Panel. (Got Most of the Trim Pulled Today)
That way I Can Start on That. (Got a Lot Done & Lots More to Do)
Gonna Roll it w/ Epoxy Resin & Turn Into Solid Fiberglass.
(All but 1.5" around the Edges)
Then I'm Covering it w/ Coyote Tan, 1000D, Ballistic Nylon, USMC Duffle Bag Material.
(Waterproof, Rip-Stop & Tough as Nails)
But, For Now, The Floors Are First & Foremost.
Gotta Get This Done, Before the Floor Falls Out from Under Me!
