What are you doing to your rig - the continuing saga

I feel Ash's pain.... I caught a nasty flu 2/20, turned into multi-focal bacterial pneumonia. Spent 4 days in the hospital - probably waited too long and it got bad. I couldn't breathe - hit me over the period of about 6 hours. Caught another round of flu while in the hospital, 2 days with 103 fever. After the hospital, I was house bound for 3 weeks with an oxygen generator and 50' of hose.... I felt like an old war vet with COPD. I just got to feeling good enough to go back to work (desk duty) yesterday. Probably another 2-4 weeks of that.

Lungs still aren't clear, gotta see a pulmonary specialist to check to see if what's still in there is infected or if it's just gunk.

Massive suckage.
It's a bitch getting old, huh?

What happens when you're redoing some things on your rig...

Well, you start those wheels turning...

And those wheels lead to...

Possibly completely redoing the front suspension (to which I never had a complaint about).

Dual-Tri 4-link possibly incoming...

Ash is the one wanted it built like this. Lol. She’s always wanted a ‘big lifted tonka truck’ so she’s got it.

Are you trying to do front before ejs?

That's awesome

Don't think EJS is happening honestly. Don't want to rush the changes and still need to order parts (last big one being 7075 links for the front).

Luckily with Sam's new plasma table (as well as Bryson's who just knocked out some brackets for me) it should be easier since no spending an entire day just making brackets. CAD it, cut it, install it.

Going to be a rather tight fit up front, but pretty sure I can swing it. I'd be off setting time not having to design the panhard, and could then also roll my pinion up a bit more :D

I'm home this week watching Clara, so working to find time for a home depot run for mock up materials.

Booo. You can take the Tj if ya want.

Unless ecgs gets me fixed up quick I’m out on ejs as well. :dunno:

An order for RCV shafts and an order to Summit Machine for 4 billet joints to replace the rear upper Johnny joints with 3/4 thru bolts... I had a choice tax checks into my savings or parts and since the tax checks are disposable income parts won over sensibility of saving .

Getting junk welded together. Much happier with this setup. Although I feel like I need a third tie in point? Or am I over thinking it? Still need to cut out the center and weld in the flanges to make it removeable.

Thanks for the offer! But, since everyone else is on one tons and most on 40's (or more), I think I should just hang back

Got some other things to do with the lady that week anyhow.

It's going to be like a whole new rig kinda after this go around :D

I think you'll be fine with that setup. If anything, just add some tube gussets and call it a day.

I'll throw up pictures of things here soon enough.

The dual-tri four link will fit in the front

If I can coerce Sam into knocking out the last brackets tomorrow on the CNC (we've been trying to dial it in), I should be able to have all brackets in place and ready to order links by the end of tomorrow.

From there, a high level list:

- Redo Driver's side floor (got cut out for link mounting) and raise go-pedal
- Finish new exhaust (with V-band clamps this time!)
- Get Inner C's on
- Get new bling bling cooling system routed and installed
- Finish up adding in fuel shot off valves
- Some pressure washing, wire wheeling, sand blasting and repaint
- Lots of small sh*t :D

My doubler is leaking (always leaks, but now a little more than usual). Thinking I might pull it out, pull it apart and reseal the damn thing. Would be about a days worth of work...yay.

Ordered a hifonics brx 3016.1D and two Kicker L7 Q Solobaric 15 drivers ... needed something to go where the back seat was ...lol... lost about 50lbs gutting the back seats and trim , and gained Two 15s weighing 40lbs each and a 90lb vented enclosure , so with the amp this will add 200lbs, so I lost 50lbs and gained 150lbs .

If you have the rail fully plated and you weld your track bar frame side bracket to that there is no need to worry about those stock bolts that fasten the stock bracket to the rail . The only reason folks have an issue with welded on track bar brackets ripping off is they are welding the bracket directly to the rail in a manner that places all the stress on a few small welds over a small section of 14g rail and it rips . If you plate the rail fully you can drop that bracket anywhere you need and weld it home without the bolts . I ran this on 42s and 44s without a cross brace to the opposing frame rail with no signs of failure.

That little piece is still there, just welded to it. The bolts do nothing to hold the track bar on but they do go thru part of the motor mount bracket. I just chose to include them in the plate. I saw enough pics of failures starting from the bottom of the track bar mount I wanted to make sure it was gonna be stout.

20190405_174103.jpgBought new batteries to replace the stolen Yellow tops ... I may only use Two of these I was going to mount all 4 where the rear bench seat was but that's 200+ lbs of battery and Two is probably enough .
