So... I'm about to snap. I've lived here at my apartment complex for almost a year now. I've enjoyed the area, and the pad, and for the most part our neighbors. Except for two, and they both happen to live right near me. One chick lives down stairs under me, and has been a snooty B!@#$ since the first day we moved in. That's fine with me, at least you're up front about being a (insert expletive)

The other would be Carl. Carl is a special kinda guy, Carl has "child molestor" written all over him. From the chester the molester glasses, to the akward nerdy demeanor, to the being a 45 year old single dad of one daughter living in an apartment complex. He's always creeped me out, as well as Dawn. He's always tried to be nice, but at the same time sneak around behind people's backs...

He's a lifer for sure, he will not be leaving this complex anytime soon to move on to bigger and better things, and I take great joy in thinking about that. However, the only thing he gets to do is constantly complain to the management. Example: Charcoal BBQ's are not allowed on the balcony, for some unknown fire hazard reason. I, on the other hand, have a PROPANE BBQ. :D Thus, I feel I am well within my rights and contract to be able to use such an item. Carl disagrees, as does management apparently. Numerous times I've had notes taped to my door, and been talked to in the parking lot about removing the BBQ. I've repeatedly responded with; "If you'd like to come confirm it's a propane grill please feel free, if that still isn't to your satisfaction then please feel free to re-write the lease agreement, and I'll decide if I want to resign."

Well, that never happens, because the complex is relatively empty as it is. To top it off, 3 people have moved out in the past two months. One guy who was extremely cool. The people who moved out were the people directly above Carl, the people beside Carl, and the people upwards and to the right of Carl. He now lives in seclusion, aside from me, who is relatively close but in a different building.

Carl might I add, is also buddy buddy with the B!@#$ below us, and I've audibly heard him complaining to her about random stuff. Like a neighborhood watch.

Now, we have assigned spots. My spot however is next to the lady below us, and instead of making it a hassle for her I've always parked in the guest parking. Which makes it easier for both of us to park, Carl apparently had a problem with this, and has recently informed management. He has also informed management that I'm bringing reposessed cars here and parking them in guest parking, which I have and will continue to do in leiu of driving them an hour and a half to indio the same night. I was approached by management recently about how many cars I had parked in guest parking, I informed here I had no cars parked there, and that if I did, none would be there more than a week, and that is well within the rules. I was also asked to start parking in my assigned space. I happily complied, as to not upset the management :D

This has apparently bothered B!@#$ below us, to the point of me coming home this evening to her car parked half way into my space. I took this as a sort of "message" to GTFO her space... So I sent a nice message back :D

:ILLEGALFLIPOFFSMILIE:

for the tl;dr people: Bish parked in my spot to prove a point... so I parked in my spot too :D

hahahah hell yeah man. Nice work :D

These are the same sort of people who lobby for those asinine Municipal Codes (for no good reason) or CC&R (what they're called depends on where you live,) and then use them to bludgeon people who aren't like them.

We're all different. Get used to it.

These are the people who get in everyone else's business, but don't like it when people get involved in theirs. I've often found that the people who like to crawl up your arse with a microscope are the ones who really have something to hide - perhaps it's time to change tactics?

5-90 brings up a good point. turn it around on Carl and get up in his mug about his goings on... no need to complain to management- just a little too much interest in his bidnez might keep him out of your hair for a while. sumptin' like, "hey carl- how ya doin'? noticed you had some pretty messy undies in the laundry room yesterday. hope you're feeling okay." - with a little too much excitement.

personally- i think you have about six inches to spare on that parking job. i want to see pic of your rig about an inch from hers. please do it just for me.
:firedevil

Definitely. I'd have backed in, just so I could watch and see just how close I could cut it to that half-assed Honda. Then, if she gets shirty about it, tell her you were parking entirely within your space, and perhaps she should work on her driving/parking skills?

I agree with getting into his business. See if his plates are to expire soon and remind him or if he has a tire that is low or has a nail let him know.......haha

But I disagree, if you see him doing ANYTHING thats against the rules report it to management so he can see how stupid it feels to get notes on doors and all that good stuff. Don't keep it all for yourself.

Just become his bestest buddy and share everything with him. Make him not want to encounter you for fear that he will lose a half hour of his valuable time talking about jack sh!t. Ask him if he wants to see your collection of kiddy porn and see if he gets excited:D

That's great Jim! That's half the fun of owning a Jeep, chances are whoever is next to you is more worried about damaging their own car than you are about yours. Good job on the pictures too, in case she decides to take out her frustration on your Jeep, now you have evidence of her parking across the line to show that any dorr dings are likely her fault. Also, let her know its Carl's fault you had to take "her" space back...See how she reacts to him about it.

I had a guy park his Altima half way across the line at Wal Mart on a busy day when the lot was packed. Being the jerk I am, I let my wife out and then pulled into the half space he had left available. Half an hour later, I hear over the intercom, "Will the owner of a black SUV license plate such and such please move your vehicle. You are blocking access to a customer's car." I walk out and it's some guy all pissed off that he couldn't get in his car. "Hey man, weren't chu theenking about anyone else besides yourself? I can't in my car!" What were you thinking, taking up two spaces when parking is at a premium already, especially right up front? "I got a bum leg man, I can't walk from the back!" {Shows me some minor road rash on his calf} Then park up close, IN ONE SPOT! So I get in my Jeep and back out of the spot so he can get in, and he tries to now take his time so I can't pull back in and get back to shopping with my 7 month pregnant wife. Backfired on him since I had backed into a now open spot and just shut the Jeep down and went in. If I had been thinking, I would've just pulled back into my spot and let him figure out how to maneuver around my Jeep without hitting it with his shiny new car...:D

Nice parking job Jim!!!

What a d**&^&^^Bag! Get into his business, like Andy says, tell him, hey, your tires are low... or your windshield wipers look dry! hahahaha

I'd show the picture of her half parked in your space to management and file a complaint.

Good job Jim,

I think you couldve got a couple inches closer to her though! :D

I had a pice of crap Isuzu Amigo that I paid $1200 for back in the day and I would look for people who parked like idiots and park right next to them like that all the time. I figured whats the worst that happens, I come out and they keyed my POS Amigo or kicked a dent in the side of a truck I care nothing about? hahaha
