Recent email I got.

Very Important for you to be aware of a new bill HR 45 introduced into the House.
This is the Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of Sale Act of 2009.

We just learned yesterday about this on the Peter Boyles radio program.

Even gun shop owners didn't know about this because it is flying under the radar.

To find out about this - go to any government website and type in HR 45 or Google HR 45 Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of Sales Act of 2009. You will get all the information.

Basically this would make it illegal to own a firearm - any rifle with a clip or ANY pistol unless:

.It is registered

.You are fingerprinted

.You supply a current Driver's License

.You supply your Social Security #

.You will submit to a physical & mental evaluation at any time of their choosing

.Each update - change or ownership through private or public sale must be reported and costs $25 - Failure to do so you automatically lose the right to own a firearm and are subject up to a year in jail.

.There is a child provision clause on page 16 section 305 stating a child-access provision. Gun must be locked and inaccessible to any child under 18.

They would have the right to come and inspect that you are storing your gun safely away from accessibility to children and fine is punishable for up to 5 yrs. in prison.

If you think this is a joke - go to the website and take your pick of many options to read this. It is long and lengthy. But, more and more people are becoming aware of this. Pass the word along. Any hunters in your family - pass this along.

Peter Boyles is on this and having guests. Listen to him on KHOW 630 a.m. in the morning. He suggests the best way to fight this is to tell all your friends about it and "spring into action". Also he suggests we all join a pro-gun group like the Colorado Rifle Association, hunting associations, gun clubs and especially the NRA.

This is just a "termite" approach to complete confiscation of guns and disarming of our society to the point we have no defense - chip away a little here and there until the goal is accomplished before anyone realizes it.

This is one to act on whether you own a gun or not.

If you take my gun, only the criminal will have one to use against me. HR 45 only makes me/us less safe. After working with convicts for 26 years I know this bill, if passed, would make them happy and in less danger from their victims.

Please.. copy and send this out to EVERYONE in the USA

The sponsor of the bill is Bobby Rush(D-ILL)

Glad to see the Dims aren't after our guns :D

'This the "change" you hoped for?

X2 on this one. I've always said that. All they are doing is taking guns away from people who are responsible enough to register them, the same people that use them properly and take care of them. Criminals don't register their guns, or buy them through a licensed dealer. So the only thing that will change is we have nothing to shoot back with.

I've already copypasta'ed this and sent it around to buddies on my list, with "DISTRIBUTION: UNLIMITED."

I don't normally do things like that, but I think it's warranted in cases like this...

Just like passing around that UN "Child Rights Treaty" - especially to those I know with minor children!

Once again, everyone is trying to be like CA. All of the listed "Rules" are already in place for CA. The gun safe you have must be on a list of approved safes also.

Of course. And the trigger lock must be on the approved list of trigger locks - and you can't store a firearm unassembled and unlocked - it has to be locked, even if you break it down to its component parts.

I once applied for CCW using the logic of "If I'm responsible for it at all times, it stays with me at all times."

Application: Denied. Apparently, the logic wasn't simple enough for them.

i was under the impression that its illegal for the govt to deny you a CCW permit unless you have some sort of felony or criminal/mental history?

i got mine back in 3 days and they didnt even talk to any contacts that i had put down

maybe it differs state to state.

It very much differs from state to state. Sadly.

In CA they don't have the right to come inspect your home or make you take mental/physical exams whenever they choose. Yet.

California is often hailed as a "bellwhether" - that being the sheep wearing the bell that leads the rest of the flock to where they need to be.

I think of CA more as a "Judas goat" - the goat wearing the bell that leads the rest of them to the slaughterhouse.

X2. It's the cheesiest line ever but it's so logical and true. If you outlaw guns only outlaws will have guns.

LOL. I tired the exact same thing with the exact same result. I couldn't find one person to explain to me how I could be responsible for a firearm once it is not on my person.

That varries from state to state as 5-90 said. There are two types of states "shall issue" and "discretionary issue" Shall issue is what your thinking about, if your background is ok they "shall issues" the permit with no other hangups. "Discretionary" is just that up to the discretion of the local offical and their whims. What and who they feel like saying yes or no to. NJ and MD are the worst basically being "non-issue" (having lived in NJ all their gun laws suck bad)

Wiki actually tells it pretty well. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Concealed_carry_in_the_United_States

I wouldn't expect CA to allow you to carry a firearm period. Unless you were some sort of law enforcement etc. PA on the other hand can't/won't deny you unless there is some sort of criminal history to disrupt the process. Pretty much goes the same for purchasing.

Anyone heard of HR 1022 also? From what I can see, it's a renewal of the Assault weapons ban
