2. Labels- Current labeling laws were updated under Johnson and Nixon... a liberal and a conservative.
3. Unions- The labor unions gained power and worker rights were really brought to the fore under Theodore Roosevelt... A Republican.
4. The FDIC was founded by a Republican, Herbert Hoover, FDR gets credit but was actually opposed to it.
5. Most insurance companies are founded and run by some of the most conservative people you ever want to meet. I am glad they are, as a liberal would spend them out of business and I would have no unemployment or workman's comp. By the way Teddy Roosevelt, a Republican, was the first to call for National Health Care.
6. Most major non-public Universities and the entire education system of the Western World was founded by the Church, as were most hospitals. Prior to nationalizing the education system, church run schools had a far better academic record and higher literacy nationally than public schools do today (not exactly hard... guess some liberal wanted more power). Education was also free and available to everyone. I'm pretty sure the church would resist being called liberal or conservative.

I could go on, but I think everyone gets the idea. Like practically everyone else in the world you believe your "side" has done all of the good that the world has ever seen. Wether or not you or I like it GW has been the president for the last 7.5 years.
