MJR and I spent a couple days exploring Death Valley. He's still out there by himself and I'm certain that his photos will be far better than mine, but for now, all you gots are mine.

Mike took his new truck and I, of course, took purple bumpers.

I had a great time. Rollins is likely having a better time and wishing he had more time to explore.

All my pics at Photobucket.

Call your life complete. As I recall, William Caruthers, in his book "Loafing Along Death Valley Trails" States that Shorty Harris swore that he saw Penguins following him quite frequently. Of course this only happened when shorty had pulled the cork on one too many bottles.

Now I know the rest of the story.

Thanks!!!

Nice photos.
Too bad we did not run across you. We got back last night from eight days in DV and Panamint Valley. The weather was clear and with snow on the higher trails.
We noticed a lot fewer visitors than in past years, probably due to the economy. Gas in the Valley and at Panamint Springs Resort was a LOT cheaper than the $5.79 we paid last year.

That trip looks great! Andy please tell me that you have that trip saved in your gps, i would love to do it.

Looks like you & Mike had a great trip--you took some great shots! Thanks for posting them up, Andy!

Please tell me Mike still has the woody??

Oh God yes, but this wasn't a wheeling trip as much as it was an expedition trip. So now Mikey has two different rigs each with a specific purpose.

For some reason, my Garmin didn't have the topo maps for that region loaded onto it, so after half a day of not seeing a single road on the GPS, I packed it away and put up the Nuvi.

Mike should have his entire trip saved on his GPS.
