cucv question

I been out of the army for 15 yrs now, but I seem to recall they had a turbo 400 with either a 205 or 208 transfer case. I'm sure someone will chime in that has better memory than myself. I seem to recall thet the p/u had the better transfer case than the blazer version, but the same transmission. But again It has been 15 yrs.

As I recall the trucks had a TH 400 and a NP208. Either Four Wheeler or 4wheel and Off Road have been doing a build on one of those trucks, You might find it on their website. I know they had tranny issues and might have even swapped in a manual at some point.

The easiest o/d tranny swap would be a 700r4. You would need a torque converter, diesel governor, 700r4 flexplate, tv linkage, transfer case and a couple other things.

Alot of guys just put on 37s if you want to go faster than 55mph.
Petersen's four wheel did one with a NV4500 manual and maybe a sm465 too.
