Do a search on here for V8 ZJ/ Durango alternator upgrade. You will need to modify the bracket some and some other things but it's a good upgrade from stock.
Check to make sure the tolerance between the two drivers is within spec. I had the same problem and had to shim both sides to get it to work properly.
I'm sure you read this but here is the specs.
The distance between the halves of the LOCK-RIGHT, that is, between the two drivers, should be...
I believe your the first person I've seen ready to part with a set. Are you talking about the old style or the new MTR w/Kevlar? The old style left lots to be desired the but new ones flat out work.
I'll be there on Sunday as well. We'll come down and say hi.
I think we are going to hit Mason Jar on Monday if you want to tag along. Going to see how far my xj on 33's makes it. ha
I've had a Lock right in my D30 for two years now not one issue. Cheap locker that works if you don't mind a little chatter when turning at slow speeds.
Wish I was going to be around to watch you guys take the xj's through there. I'm going down the 28th and coming back the 1st so I'll be gone before you guys even get there.
I tent camp everytime. Mostly because the funds haven't freed up for a truck bed camper to put on my gooseneck. But tent camping isn't bad it's all ive ever know so can't miss somthing you've never had right?
Well this past weekend I made an attempt to build an anti wrap bar. But once i got it finished and tested I reliezed its way too short and its causing me to have lift during acceleration and it's limiting me about 2" from bumpstop on the driver side. So guess I'll redesign and make it longer.
I'm currently running a set of MTR/ Kevlars in the 33 flavor and IMO it's the best all around tire. Has great road manors wet/snow/dry you name it and hold it's own in the mud/rock or anything else offroad against all my buddies TSL's.
The 760X joints will not fit in your axles unless you have ABS in the front. If you do not have ABS you need the smaller 297 Joint. 96-01 all have the larger 760 joint.
JRT sounds like your going to be a busy man between now and the crawl. I did manage to get my mega bump stops mounted. Total of 7inch in the rear with 4 1/2 in up travel and 4 1/2 in the front.
I just mounted a new set of 33 MTR's. Which led me to doing some major bump stopping at both ends. Only other things on my list are new motor mounts and new header.
You can do a 1" crossmember drop and run 4.5 lift without the need for a SYE. Ran my 94 like that for 2 years no issues at all. Just an option. What ever you do get a full leaf kit no add a leaf stuff.
