I work the Flight line at night at our local field, gets boring sometimes but we see everything from Champs and Cubs to Gulfstream IVs and Falcon 900s and of course the Medevac service has a Bell 412 they fly all the time.

The Martinsburg ANG unit is switching from C-130s to C5s, That's not too far south from York. I dunno if they've starting getting the jets in yet though.

I did this same swap on an '87 (should be the same harness as yours). I ended up grounding the NSS wire in the engine compartment, I'm not sure what color it was I'll check under the hood for ya in a few. For the backup lights I just figured out which two wires were for the backup switch on...

Thanks, I forgot about this thread.. Turns out I was missing some of the parts for the mounts so it was simple to get on once I got all the pieces.

Ok so I picked up a Thule rack system really cheap from a guy, it has the feet to mount on the gutter rails but for the life of me I can't figure it out. Anybody have one of these they could snap a pic off for me? Thule's website is no help and the local dealer didn't have a clue either.

I'm up in Winchester, its been forever since I've had my XJ out, my schedules really whacked up so some weeks I have weekdays off and others I've got weekends free.

Did you have to reset your gears after the install? I know they're not the best unit but I'm just looking for something cheap without a full locking action

Somebody in a local club had one cheap, just got the wheels turning in my head, I'm not set up for gears at my shop so I'm not even going to mess w/ it, more trouble than it'd be worth.

Anybody put a trac lock unit from a TJ 44 rear into an XJ rear (D44)? Any major differences between the two? How much trouble is to install a posi unit, will i have to pull out the ring and pinion gear? And yes I know that trac locks suck offroad, my XJ is my daily driver and is only offroad...

BTW the 4.3 has the same bolt pattern as a small block chevy when you're looking at bellhousing adapters

What year is the chevy engine? If its a vortec design you start running into some wiring nightmares. They have a ton of sensors and computerized injection yadda yadda. I too got a 4.3 for next to nothing and I was thinking of dropping it in my CJ but by the time I got the price of a wiring...
