Replacing the 00+ coil rail with aftermarket coils

AH. I didn't realize that the 2000+ had a "coil rail". Any way you could make this type of set up work on 97-99 models?

Replacing the 00+ coil rail with aftermarket coils

Did I miss something here? What do you do with the factory distributor? Cap it? Any pictures or explanation on how your PCM is calculating which coil needs to fire and when?

    Coilovers With 32-34" Tires Anyone?

I'm interested in this as well. I haven't seen any low COG, full body XJ builds, with coilovers, but I've been throwing the idea around with a buddy of mine. Would like to see what you guys come up with.

What needs to get done to your rig before the Flog

Geez just got the thing back running again. I'd like to get some armor (diff covers, rock rails) on the Jeep before hand, just don't know if I'm going to make it.

    which header

I went ahead and bought some brown dog motor mounts, so I am still waiting on those but in the mean-time I got the header welded up and ceramic coated.

    which header

Yes the header was wrapped with exhaust/heat wrap. I'm hoping that not having it on there and just getting it ceramic coated will help this go around. As for your comment about "more problems than just a broken header" what exactly do you mean by that?

    which header

brand new They are not brown dog or anything fancy. Just factory replacements. Replaced them the same time I did the manifold the first time (6 months ago).

    which header

I am one of the guys with the APN header that everyone swears by. Any-who, I pulled it last night, after only 6 months or so on the jeep, and here is the carnage.

    which header

I was just searching for some headers online and came across a few others that I haven't heard anything about. Didn't know if you guys knew anything about them or heard from someone how they have done with them or not. Drake off road Gibson & Rugged Ridge just looks like an APN but more...

    which header

I do not have a flex piece installed on my exhaust but I replaced my motor mounts while I was there. Just saying it should last longer than a summer if it was designed to go onto a factory exhaust system.
  15. R

    which header

I just want to say that I bought an APN header earlier this year and I now have to replace mine again. It has probably only been about 6 months or so and the damn thing has cracked around one of the collectors just below the #5 cylinder. I think I will still go with another APN just because no...

    Bad MPG's and a stutter

Just replaced the fuel pump (which also has the filter, turns out). The random dying is fixed, along with the fuel pressure issue. Now all I have to figure out is the stuttering under load.

    New boatsides/stiffeners!

I talked to the Hooligan Off Road guys and they were shooting in the neighborhood of $750. Just to give everyone a heads up if you are interested. XJLI you were correct. :(

    New boatsides/stiffeners!

Nevermind. Quick search came up with these guys. http://hooliganoffroadengineering.com/XJ.php Doesn't look like they make those anymore. But that is exactly what I've been looking at for my XJ. I just don't like that bulky square tubing (like other rock rails). Seems like they would get caught...
