OR depending on how good your fab skill is...grab a vehicle that has this design you are looking for and is closely the same overall size as the xj hatch and get it to fit?
seems like all your "hard" work of trying to fit it in the hatch would be done...just have to make it NOT look like a$$...
Keeping factory id say find ya the sound bar with the factory harness on it any plug and play for the most part. If your 99 didnt come with a rear soundbar may need to run a few wires.

Between a couple of rolls of Fatmat, new carpet with mass backing and lining the front wheel wells with the asphalt flashing from Home Depot i can say it made a big differance in the road noise, road vibrations and heat into AND out...

I read somewhere online that it was possible to cut the shaft down for a 2wd to 4wd convertion....what i found out from some local jeep friends is thats really only possible for some manual trannys.

well you were right about one thing..the shafts are deff!!! cut a different way. the output from my tranny is a 27 spline and the input to my 242 is a 23..sooooooo got other problems to fix b4 that now :banghead: lol.

Hi, first off i know what all is involved in the swap.. iv done my fair share of reading up on this. My question is when it comes to the conversion i only see two options..
Option A) pull a whole drivetrain from donor jeep and intall into project.
I wouldnt mind this but i dont have a donor...
i recall seeing it posted on here..but cant seem to get the right search to find it again, it was a bumper that is pretty much cut out and u can weld it up yourself. anyone know the company name or have a link or anything? i keep thinking the company name was like spider something...any help...
yeah some of the hills at hardrock are almost undoable after a rain..ask me how i know! :doh:

Place is nice for Florida std's. I still prefer the place just down the road there...If u know where im talking...
im running their d30 and 8.8 gears.
no problems here.
(only regret..is that i went d44 in the front b4 i got the gears)
but im happy with them, master install kit and everything.
