If it were me I would do the remote start at the same time, it's only a couple more wires to solder.

From a sound quality perspective, passing your signal through a cheapo Wal-Mart head unit will degrade the signal considerably.

This is giving me a lot of ideas for a portable sound system I have planned...Just need to find on of them amps with 100w RMS per channel or so.

You can get a harness that plugs into the factory wiring that you can draw your 12v constant and switched from. Should be easier than running new wire.

If I saw this set up on a vehicle I was looking to purchase I would laugh, quite hard, and walk away.

Spinning the filter off doesn't drain all the oil! You need to find the source of the leak, clean the rig up good and then see what you can find.

I don't understand why you can't just move the cable to the other side, as you stated everything is in pretty much the same location and the shifter is right on top of the transmission. Is the pattern on your hybrid transmission reversed?
