What is this (door?) seal? 96XJ Sport (pics)

I recently bought a 96 XJ sport. Included were two of these pieces that I believe to be door seals but really have no idea. I can find no place they belong. I was told they kept falling off and eventually the previous owners just ripped them out and were done with them. Any ideas?

I'm at a loss. I've owned more cherokees than I have toes and just can't not find where these belongs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A quick inspection of my 96 does not show those seals.
There is the normal weather strip around the door,a short piece on the windshield pillar and hard seal on the bottom door edge.
Your not missing anything around the window channel are you ?

They look to me like the rubber pieces that go around the gas tank straps. I've only worked on '97+ though and I know the tanks changed in '97 , so your '96 may or may not have them.

looks kinda like "slider" strips, cant think of better word. Like from the the cargo floor strips or the strips on the luggage racks.

Not for the gas tank, there is a spot in the middle that I assume holds them in place. Thanks for all the help. Looks to me like all the door pieces are in.
