Not really a roadside repair, but interesting to say the least. A buddy and I were replacing U-joints, tie rod ends, coil springs. When we put the axle shaft in the vice to remove the U-joint we damaged the dust shield. It was midnight so no auto stores open. We got some diameter...
I vote heater core. That was my only issue while I was over thinking the issue. The heater core was plugged as all get out...low pressure water wasn't cutting it. Blast it!
I had a cracked one on a 91 and all I did was pull it off, weld it, put it back on, good as new. Great if you have access to a welder, or know someone who does. Just my $.02
Support your local animal shelter! I'm sure they have kittens and adult cats. Both of my cats were rescues. Think I got lucky with them though...they are both great cats.
