Ross won't do it, not even to prove anyone wrong. He'll just b*tch and moan about it, and be like "OH YEAH? OH YEAH? WELL RED JEEP this and that..."

And welding spider gears is a legitimate thing to do. People do it all the time, including him, its known as a "lincoln locker."

When I was driving my XJ on the street, there were times that I just wished I had a spool in the rear. At least then you KNOW its locked all the time, so its predictable in all cases. My rear detroit would sometimes unload when I was going straight down the road, and it would be enough to make the rear of the Jeep jump out sideways at times.
