2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee

If you drive our crowded freeways enough (I drive thousands of miles per year for work travel) it's easy to appreciate adaptive cruise control as you don't have to continually adjust for traffic. Other than that, I could do without all the other wizbangs. I think you'll see adaptive cruise control be as common as normal cruise is now someday. The only think I dislike about adaptive CC is that it drives my Valentine One crazy.

hmm i wonder how jk axles will fit under it.........................

I like the looks, but it does look like a BMW.

They aren't trying to sell this thing to any of us, they are trying to sell it our wives/moms/GFs. When they want to sell something to the more traditional Jeep crowd they will kick out a new Rubicon model.

I wonder what the SRT8 model will look like?

I think it's very nice. We'll still be able to get lift kits for it as long as we opt for the coil springs instead of air suspension.

It seems like they completely copied the LR2, though- as far as suspension is concerned anyway.

You guys may complain about the looks or the posh interior, but the truth is, that's what people want in a NEW SUV. If they want something boxy and bare, they can get an XJ :)

Lets just hope it doesn't go for $50k, Id be willing to buy one for around $30k.

Yeah Thats Sweet! Whats that called? The Jeep Grand Trailblazer? Get that crap out of here! Stinking designers... Get back into the bold lines, with the hard corners... Big, bold, and tough! Thats almost as depressing as that whole Patriot / Compass bologna! What happened to the good old days with the Full Size Action! Jeep needs to resurrect the Gladiator, or the Wagoneer!

Yeah, real original styling...... Looks like a Subie Tribecca..........

Ya I completely agree, looks just like the Subaru, with a hint of the Audi Q7 in it.

I don't see where you guys think it looks like a Trailblazer what so ever.

It looks like such a girl car, the GC just gets a little less manly every new generation. The ZJ, now that was a mans car esp with the 5.9. Thats one GC i could drive!!

It looks just like the Model T, with a hint of every car ever made thrown in.

Damn those Chrysler stylists, the steering wheel is is identical to a 1916 Cadillac.

Tailights that light up when you hit the brake pedal - RIPOFF !!!!

Geez, Jeepers sure cry alot. :laugh3:

I'm not seeing Trailblazer at all, except that both are SUVs with 4 wheels, headlights, taillights, and 4 doors. The Trailblazer actually keeps the roofline slightly boxy to aid in cargo capacity.

x2

I think it's funny that anytime a new car design comes out, there's always the people that complain and say it looks like a girly, or looks like X car. Then, 5 to 10 years later, people say why can't they make a manly car like the 2011 Grand Cherokee.

I wonder what people thought of the "new" 1984 Jeep Cherokee when it first came out?

When do Chrysler's newest major shareholders get to start weighing in on future concepts? You know, us.

Just heard a report on the radio about the GC getting unveiled at the NY Autoshow. The reporter was talking about how all the car companys are kicking out smaller cars and crossovers, and how Chrysler brings out this big SUV. When the spokesman was asked why, he said that Americans still want SUVs.
Thats kind of an interesting statement; my wife and I just bought an '08 WK. At first we wanted something smaller, but then we started thinking about it, right now its just the two of us and out dog. We are expecting our first kid in Aug/Sept and we are planning on having one more after that. We decided in the end, 2 kids, dog and baggage we wanted an SUV.
Anyone here driving a mid-size with 2 kids and a dog? Do you travel much with everyone?

FAIL. It looks nothing like a Tribecca.
The exterior styling is more comparable to an X5 (especially the rear)

Anyways... Jeep updated their site as well.

All I have to say is that the more I look at it, the more I like it!!!
I would definitely buy one if I had money coming out of my ass.

Side view I would have mistaken it for a trailblazer. I just hope they leave the wrangler alone and with good axles. Till then I'll just keep my TJ, XJ and ZJ and hope for the best.

one kid, a dog and a mid-size sedan... WAY TOO MUCH CRAP!
The XJ is almost too small.
Next go around I would like a large SUV or Station wagon. And if i can some how get a tap on that stimulus money some how like the guy at AIG you know a mil a month or so, the new GC is the way I would go.

I have 3 kids and the dog doesn't travel with us. We drive a minivan. But then all three are in car seats/booster seats. The XJ was too small even with just the 2 kids. We'd load up the kids, stroller, and diaper bag and there went the entire cargo area, and we had to position the forward facing child behind the driver's seat cuz there was no way I could fit in front of a rear facing seat.
