XJ Rebuild...

be careful... i put all greaseable joints in my shaft and the fill nipple off of the middle Ujoint self clearanced. basically it didnt have room to articulate, and the nipple got ripped off. i didnt notice until recently. but i dont see any orientation where a greasable joint would work properly. does yours rotate freely?

care to take a picture of its orientation?

They make U joints that have a zert in the cap. They are a pain in the walt though!!!

Been there the first time I rebuilt my dive shaft years ago... then I found these u joints, (spicer 280) they have the small grease zerts in the caps, super easy to grease and they were only 13 bucks on rock auto...

It needs dialed in, so I need some help. As it sits right now I think the axle is a little far forward. The diff is at 8 degrees putting the caster at -1 degree but the pinion angle looks almost right on. The main concern is the sway bar link hitting the coil on the passenger side... The lowers and uppers are alll the same lengths side to side and the axle looks centerd, I havent tried reseting it. SO what do you guys think/ recommend.

Would of been done tonight but the passenger side sleeves were froze to the bolts so I had to cut them out and no one is open that had a replacment bolt, I believe is a 14x1.25 will have to source one tommorow.

So I started searching for what size the leaf spring bolt was and ran across a post saying that the lower control arm bolts are the exact same which I had laying around from the recent tnt install. Thanks Kastein! So 20 miniutes later I had it together...

A bad line and not being able to see much due to snow caused me to land the rear shaft dead on a rock. But I go prepared so 30 minutes later I had another shaft in and kept on wheelin.
