I've got a 97 xj with stock axles, dana 30 front, Chrysler 8.25 rear.. thats the new model of the 8 1/4 with the 29 spline axle shafts, not the 27 spline. I'm running some 33x12.50 procomp Mt's with 4.5 in lift and a pair of bushwhacker cutout flairs.
Now heres the prob.. a friend has an 1985 jeep Wagoner.. not the grand Wagoner, its one of the granddaddy xj's that still carried the Wagoner name. its a old beater with a GM v6 in it. But, so he says it has front and rear dana 44's. I wonder if this is correct. I know older xj's with toeing packages and Comanche’s had dana 44's in the rear, but i've never heard of one that both. Anyone ever heard of this?
Also, anyone have any comments on how much better dana 44's are than my current setup? bigger breaks? stronger shafts? etc
He's asking $800 for the whole setup.. the jeep's got a 4.5 in lift, 32x11.50's, and comes with an extra set of black steel wheels and a cb. Its not running right now due to some wiring probs.
~if true the plan is to remove and rebuild the axles, installing them on my 97xj
~and I have a friend who will buy my dana 30 for a few bucks if this all works out
Just hate using any jeep for scrap!
Thanks for all the help
John
