what do they do?? what are they for? will they work with a aussie locker?
Warn manual hubs are only available on a D30 with the conversion kit, which costs over $1k. They are easily put on D44s and D60s, etc, because the axle has a spindle and hub, rather than a unit bearing like the D30.
But, what they do is physically disconnect the axleshaft from the wheel. When unlocked, the front axleshafts, dif, and driveshaft do not turn. The idea is you unlock the hub when on the street for better fuel economy, or if you break a shaft, ring gear, etc, you can unlock the hubs, disconnecting the front drivetrain, and drive home.
thank you very much that sums it all up. so then they will work with an aussie locker. warn hubs are next on my list..
Oof, that sounds like way too much money to drop on a dana 30, if you take gears and locker into account your in over 1500 bucks on an axle that could be easily upgradable for half that amount to a stronger axle..but to each their own.
EMS Offroad makes a conversion kit. I'm running that on my 30. ive wasted a over 3k on my front axle now.
IIRC you can use Ford Ranger hubs which you could get from the JY!
