UPS theif?

So been down helping my dad, jeepis suppose to go int he shop tommorow to get 456 gears and rear detroit set..package cam wedensady while i wasnt home. My landlord put it inthe garage after he got it.So i went in the garage tonight and the box was ripped looks like it was cut. Both install kits were missing. So much for going to the shop tommorow! And i know my landlord wouldnt take them. So im thinking someone along the way took them.

So mad, its the one big upgrade i wanted too make before i deployed in two months.

Could be thieves.
I ordered bolts twice last couple of months and UPS reported empty packages at the NJ terminal point.

Seems like someone rips/cuts open packages just on the chance it's something they can use or sell.

Once they see they can't use it, any small parts can fall out

you need to find out if the box was signed for by your landlord or if it was driver released.

either way call ups and file a claim asap. a smart driver would never deliver a package that was ripped open and could possibly have something missing as its then their responsibility for driver releasing it.

I work for UPS and a few years ago we had a problem here where people were literally just following the trucks and stealing packages that were left at doors. They had some kid jump out of their car and run up and grab the box. They didn't stay directly behind the driver but you know they would show up a minute later or something.

You gotta file a UPS claim, the sooner the better.

Most shops should be able to source an install kit without too much trouble...File the claim, get it straightened out. You should still have time within the next two months to get the install kits replaced and gears installed.

They are overnighting me new install kits tonight. Bummer though i wanted the gears set this past weekend so i could break them in during the thankgiving travels.
Oh well atleast i got new ones on the way.

My dad has told me stories of UPS employees at his terminal getting fired for breaking open packages they thought were interesting. That all changed when people started getting searched leaving work though.

When i worked there we couldn't carry our personal cell phones and walked thru metal detectors in and out and if you were caught with a phone you were escorted off the property. But from what I've heard its different at other terminals.

We have to have property passes for things like cell phones and mp3 players. You put down the serial number which goes on record and you are supposed to put a numbered sticker that matches their records onto the device. I refuse to put the sticker on because they never come off and if you ever want to sell the device your screwed.

We have metal walk thru detectors and are scanned with a wand and all that.

Well they cancelled the new parts, because when the UPS guy came to pick up the old box. He called and they had found the parts i was missing at the warehouse 2.5 miles away. So i drove there picked it up, then dropped it off at the shop, should have it back saturday with the 456 gears and detroit in the rear
