I've tried RE HD, RE1600, Teraflex, & custom. Here are my thoughts:

RE1600: bent real easy when I got in a wreck, I don't care for the single shear design, and if feels real light weight.

RE HD: best overall design along with the TNT setup, but when I had it on mine when they first came out it hit the diff cover (I only had 3.5" of lift). Haven't tried the bar since but haven't heard of anybody else having the issue of hitting the diff cover, so it was probably something that was corrected.

Teraflex: Best except for the TRE on the body end. The entire bar is solid stock with a beefy adjustment sleeve so you can adjust it without unbolting either end, and it is rounded to miss the diff, not just straight sections with a few bends.

Custom: When the TRE died on my Teraflex bar, I chopped it off and welded on a RE small superflex joint. I then put on the RE bracket & brace. It has held up for a few years now with no problems.

I like TNT's design only if you're going to move your axle forward an inch or so. I also wish TNT had a brace going across to the other side of the frame rail like RE. That was the deciding factor for me.

Another vote for KOR track bar conversion. Haven't wheeled it yet, but I did notice a difference on the road. And while it may be a stock mount with a piece welded on, they look to be very beefy welds (don't remember if they are full pen or not). It's not going to just "pop" off.

You forgot the "other" option.

I'm running a Track Bar system from Kevin's Offroad. http://www.kevinsoffroad.com/tbconversion.html

It utilizes a modified stock Track Bar mount, and combines it with a JKS Adjustable Track Bar (Which JKS custom builds for him specifically, to his standards) to make quite the beefy setup. Little pricey, however I highly recommend it.

How do you like the KOR trackbar kit with the U-Turn steering? I'm putting the U-Turn on now, just need to do the drag-link check and tighten things up.

How much lift are you sitting at?

I'm definitely feeling the KOR setup as my steering system leaves a lot to be desired. My only concern is whether the amateurs in South Jersey will tell me that they can't align my Jeep since it has all these non-stock parts. Unbelievable :gonnablow . (I am about to wait for that little old man at Sears and put him out of his misery!)

Anyway, tell me ... how is it under your XJ is so flawlessly clean? :worship: Gee ... :worship:

seriously, you don't wheel it, do you?

3 of our 5 XJ's have adj. trackbars. We have the RK, RE and a Currie(which I think is made by JKS)

I like the Currie the best, the RE and the RK really need to be double sheer with the hiem joints(just for insurance). The Currie uses a larger bolt for the frame side than the other 2, it is also johnny jointed at the frame end.

X2 on the Kevin's TB and bracket. It works well for me.

Another vote for the KOR kit.
I have one on my DD with 75,000 miles on it.
It was one of those immediate,"I can feel the difference" add-ons.

Since Kevin starts with a stock XJ track-bar bracket and then add to it, there is the unused TRE hole in the bracket.
It is the perfect place to attach a home-made track-bar brace.

I have the Rusty's Heavy Duty Adj Track bar kit with thier "Heavy-Duty" frame mount. I am happy with it since I installed it and haven't had any trouble with it.
There is a world of diffrence between the heavy duty bar and the regular bar they offer. I went with the really big one with big joints that have bolts that go all the way thru, not a tie rod end.

I run the Re with HD bracket and cannot keep it tightened for the life of me. It just wont stay tight, Im gonna end up welding it to the frame. Other than thats its been good.

what function does this brace serve?

To alleviate some of the lateral stress off of the frame mount and displace some of it to pass. side.
What quality are the JKS track bars? How about the teraflex track bar?
Not familiar with Teraflex, However when searching I didn't hear anything bad about JKS all good reviews and mine is about as beefy as it gets.
(.156 wall 1.25" OD tube) IIRC T&T is a touch more stout, whatever, I've been t-boned and had to replace the axle but JKS bar held up just fine!

Another happy JKS tracbar user here ... although if it ever does give problems I would probably go KOR for the double shear.

I voted for RE because thats what I have currently.

I will be using 2 RE superflex joints and 1.5'' OD 1/4 wall DOM for my trackbar when I get a chance to finish my HP44 build.
