Tom95YJ's Family Wheeler Build ...

I'll be sure to post pics of it once I install it. It may be a few weeks , I have a ton of stuff going on between. Buying a house, moving, working 55+hrs week....

Very nice!

Nice rig and the trail pics look like lots of fun.

Since my XJ is my commuter to work in the mountains year round, I talked myself out of going with 33's and am going to stop at +3.5" and 31's like your setup. That appears to be quite capable, so thanks for sharing!

Re: Tom95YJ's Faimly Wheeler Build ...

After work today a co-worker and I were able to get the bumper installed !

I must say the XJ feels a bunch more solid, The bumper took us about 1hr from start to finish (Directions called for 3-6hrs) But the fact that I had the old bumper already off , An my co-worker has a Rigid bumper on his XJ helps when it came to the install !

I still need to mount my winch control box, The synthetic rope, An the Hawse Fairlead. I need to buy 3 KC Slimlites, or Lightforce 170 strikers now to put on the front to tie it all together

But enough of the chit chat Here come the pics ! :head:

Re: Tom95YJ's Faimly Wheeler Build ...

Keep in mind this section is wide enough for 1 Rig , there is a 150-200ft drop off the side an there is 2 way traffic on this section leading to the trailheads

nice pics! had no idea there were moose out there, havent seen one since i was in Maine.

I don't mean to hijack, but I am doing basically the exact same thing you did on the front bumper. My wife ordered the dirtbound hoop kit for me for fathers day, and it came in 2 days ago. Mine was uncut and unnotched which gave some wiggle room. I put the headlight hoops a little taller and pushed the center hoop back further. For it mostly welded on to my 8 year old rigid winch bumper and then I had to go to work. I am gonna take the bumper off so he can finish welding the full perimeter of the tubes then paint. Here is a sneak peak from the drivers seat.

Don't worry your not hijacking. My centered hoop looks the same from the drivers seat. My headlight hoops are a tad lower since my center hoop leans forward. And are our at the sides more. I consider it a compliment since your are going with the same set up as I have

Gotta finish burning in the tubes - we'll have to take the bumper off which is only 6 bolts and can detach separate from the winch plate. Then add the light tabs, paint, and done.

Looks good !

My bumper is the K version so the ends are even with the tip of the flares for leg mounts on a future Exocage, So the headlight guards are on the outer edge of them an the stinger is set back maybe 1" from the edge of the bumper . IIRC terry @ rigid has the center hoop set on a 5* angle

Yeah I was noticing that yours looked a little different. My buddy that helped me weld it on has one of the original bumpers that has a slightly different mounting system. Neat to see the different versions.

Just a small update

I finally installed my. Re springs and bilstein 5100's. About 3 weeks ago. Yesterday I tried to help break in the springs at the local ohv venue and help cycle the suspension system to see if I could try to figure out the death wobble since everything was new other than tires and the control arm bushings. I tried to rotate and balance the tires which made my issues worse. So I threw on a buddys wheels and tires my issue went away so today I stepped up from 31x10.50's to 33x10.50 km2's They are pretty good Sofar IMO. Roll nice they are quiet and bigger than the 31's. So this spring I plan on regearing locking the front with an arb and going long arm .
