your 95 dana 30 is the axle you want.. no disconnect...Thats the year front end Iam running under my jeep...Works great...untill I can afford a dana 44 hp
I really dont want to pay the $$$ to swap in gears/locker. I'd rather swap in something from someone wanting an upgrade.
What vehicles have a hp d44 that is a direct swap?
it will work, and if you dont care about low pinion or high pinion then go for it, you will lose about 4" give or take where the center of the pinion is is on the back of the dana 30. the HP is more disirable because it is a tad bit stronger and has the clearance, but if its gears and lockers you are looking to gain, then go with the Low Pinion, you can always save your hp for a build up and install it in later on

the dana 44 that is offered on the Rubi Is not as strong as a ture dana 44 because it is basically just a dana 44 cener housing with dana 30 tubes. It also is only 30 spline. You aslo wind up with a Low pinion. the increase in strength is minimal, however you are able to run lower gear sets with the 44 then with the 30. the Rubi 44 is only worth it if you can find a good deal, your better off running a 44 that has been narrowed instead (it may even be cheaper in the long run)
