When I was driving the XJ on the street what I figured was that if a cop wants to be a jerk he’s going to find something to ticket you for, if not for fenders then something else. Not very many rigs that see much trail use are 100% compliant. Like I said before my stock dodge wasn’t 100% compliant, and could have been ticketed if the cop wanted to be a jerk. Fortunately most cops aren’t going to be jerks and if you at least attempt to comply with the laws and aren’t blatantly breaking them they will let you slide.
